Students around the world have lost substantial instructional time owing to
school closures, shifts to online learning environments and myriad issues
associated to the COVID-19 pandemic. There is little doubt that immediate
intervention is required to mitigate the effect of learning loss related to
uneven instructional focus for the better part of the last two years. We believe
that fundamental to any remediation effort are tools for assessing the extent
and nature of the loss, and prescriptive reports that provide a pathway for
addressing deficiencies.



The LEARNING RECOVERY PROGRAM (LRP) from Castle Rock Research gives educators
access to the SOLARO platform to measure and report on learning loss experienced
by their students and guides learners to the instructional content that will
help them to regain lost concepts and critical understandings. The LRP enables
students to recapture the foundational knowledge that they failed to grasp and
allows for the sequential growth in learning to bring them up to current
expectations. There are hundreds of pre-made assessments in the LRP and teachers
have the flexibility to make their own customized diagnostics from the
repository of thousands of test questions aligned to standards. The system
automatically generates reports that indicate performance at a student and class
level. Most importantly, each question is tied to a specific educational
construct to accurately measure where students are having difficulty and directs
them to the instructional content (available in the system or teacher designed)
where the underlying concept is covered in greater detail.
