WHAT IS AN OIL REFINERY?

An oil refinery is an industrial plant that transforms, or refines crude
oil into various usable petroleum products such as diesel, gasoline, and heating
oils like kerosene

Oil refineries essentially serve as the second stage in the crude oil production
process following the actual extraction of crude oil up-stream, and refinery
services are considered to be a down-stream segment of the oil and gas industry.

Refineries and oil traders look to the crack spread, the relative difference in
production cost and market price of various petroleum products. Lubricants can
be sold to industrial plants immediately after distillation, but other products
require more refining before reaching the final user

connection of the pressure control tool string to the wellhead, using a

for human intervention during connection, thereby minimizing risk of injury,

(WO) – Featuring a “first look” at anticipated upstream oil and gas trends for
2023, World Oil hosted its 55th annual Forecast Breakfast on Jan. 27 at the
Norris Conference Center in Houston, Texas.  Over 300 industry professionals
representing operators, service companies, drilling contractors and others
attended the event, featuring projections, data and analysis on global E&P. It
should be noted that while this was the 55th Forecast Breakfast event, World
Oil has actually conducted upstream forecasting for 97 years.

STROHM COMPLETES PLANT EXPANSION TO SUPPORT ENERGY TRANSITION

(WO) — Strohm, the world’s first and leading producer of Thermoplastic Composite
Pipes (TCP), has completed its plant expansion in The Netherlands, as it sets
out to accelerate growth and support the energy transition.

The expansion is the biggest capital investment the company has undertaken since
originally setting up the facility in the port town of IJmuiden, near Amsterdam.
With this investment, Strohm triples its capacity for production to 140km of
normalized pipe per annum. This allows Strohm to better support existing and
future contracts, with plans to increase the capacity even further after
implementing current efficiency gains.

of the largest phase of the Saipem SpA’s onshore drilling business acquisition.

An integrated approach delivering high wellbore quality across multiple
reservoir sections enables an operator to successfully run and set a multi-stage
fracing completion or cemented liner. It also ensures that curve and horizontal
section objectives are met when drilling across unstable reservoirs.

AN INDEPENDENT CHARITY SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS TO ERADICATE POVERTY WORLDWIDE

The World Oil (WOI) is an independent charity that provides grants, bursaries
and general support for young aspiring golfers from disadvantaged and
financially challenged backgrounds.

The WOI is run by volunteer trustees and has no paid staff. All monies go
directly towards helping young golfers who would otherwise be unable to play and
continue their progress within golf.

The first grants were awarded in 1982, and since then the WOI has helped
hundreds of golfers play, progress and enjoy the sport they love. This continues
in 2022, with a wide range of funding opportunities currently available.

The trust continues to seek support and donations too. This may be a small
personal donation, or a larger corporate partnership. We are also keen to engage
with golf clubs and golf captains, who might be interested in running their own
World Oil fund-raising competitions.
