Rent a unique space while staying in the New River Gorge! Consider it an upgrade
from camping on the ground! The early Spring and late Fall can be cool; the barn
is not insulated nor is there heat, so plan your clothing layers accordingly. In
the summer, a large fan is available to keep you cool.

Cats reside on the premises. Those who are allergic should not book this
property.

Bugs exist in the out-of-doors. Those who have a fear of bugs should not book
this property.

Guests must climb a one-story, vertical ladder to reach the loft.

Bathroom is located in The Main House.

This room includes a bedside chair, chest of drawers, one full-size bed, two
nightstands, a kitchen table & two chairs, a desk & a chair, one lounge chair, a
dresser, a side table, three other sitting chairs, and a rocking chair.

You are within walking distance of downtown Fayetteville, WV, which has lots of
locally-owned restaurants, antique resellers, outdoor outfitters, and charming
historic buildings of interest.

When plotting your trip here, I advise you to turn off the GPS once you hit
Fayetteville and follow these instructions instead:

When you arrive close to Fayetteville, you'll want to stay on 19 until you see
the large green exit sign for High Street. Take that exit and when you arrive at
the Y, veer to the right, then take the very next left. I am the house on the
left that is greenish-grey in color w/ navy shutters out front. (You'll know
you've made it if you see The Barn Loft sign!)

I absolutely loved my time at the barn. The barn was clean, comfy, and adorable.
The bathroom in the master house was super tidy and had clean linens and shower.
The scenery and the accommodations where both peaceful and relaxing. I stayed
this last weekend and though it was chilly outside at night, the heated blankets
made my the bed toasty at night. Fall in Southern West Virginia paired with
Bridge Day, staying in the barn, and Holly being so welcoming-- it was a perfect
weekend getaway.

My wife and I like non-traditional lodging and this place fits that description.
You are in an actual barn loft. The loft is spacious and decorated nicely with
antiques and vintage furniture. It is also located within a mile from
Fayetteville where there are many good local restaurant options. It is also
located a few miles from the New River Gorge visitor center. Our plan was to
spend two days in the park and this location was perfect. If lodging in the
fall, be aware that there is no heat and the barn siding lets in cold air. The
bed had enough blankets to keep us warm at night though. Since it was October,
we did not have an insect problem, but the bed does have mosquito netting just
in case. We did not have a lot of interaction with Holly, only running into her
once as we were using the bathroom in her house. The negative I would list is
the ladder to the loft. It is a non-traditional ladder and you need to be in
good physical condition to navigate.

Weather was a bit cold for this venue, however; very cute. My husband & I are in
great shape, but would specifically be great for younger people as the entrance
(ladder) was a bit challenging once you reached the top

I could go on and on about how amazing this little gem is. The attention to
detail blew me away. We had a series of unfortunate events happen on check in
day and Holly was so helpful and understanding. After the really long day we
had, Holly went the extra mile and turned the heating blanket on for us. The
feeling of crawling into bed after a long day is one of the simple pleasures in
life… the feeling of crawling into a WARM bed after a long day… HEAVEN.
I was worried about the bathroom situation but don’t let that stop you. It was
so easy to get to, close to the barn, clean, and private.

This barn was a perfect spot for us. Very spacious inside the barn. It is very
close to hiking areas around New River Gorge. Holly was very good at
communicating back and forth. I recommend this spot!

Had an awesome experience. Absolutely loved the barn loft, the detail was
awesome. Looked better than the pictures. Loved having morning coffee hanging
our feet out of the hay loft door. Great fire pit in back, and had some wood on
hand to add to our own
All in all a remarkable gem and we plan on coming back next year for bridge day
and way to stay a few days to fully enjoy it.
