In November 2018, a day after the UK government cabinet presented and supported
the deal, several members of the government resigned, including Dominic Raab,
Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. [28] On 23 January 2020, the
UK Parliament approved the draft Agreement (European Union (Withdrawal
Agreement) Act 2020). Following the signing of the Agreement, the Government of
the United Kingdom issued and deposited the instrument of ratification of Great
Britain on 29 January 2020. [7] [8] The agreement was ratified by the Council of
the European Union on 30 January 2020 after obtaining the consent of the
European Parliament on 29 January 2020. The withdrawal of the United Kingdom
from the Union entered into force on 11.m. GMT on 31 January 2020, and on that
date the Withdrawal Agreement pursuant to Article 185 entered into force. March
2018 Adopt guidelines for the framework for the future relationship between the
EU and the UK. The Commission and the UK Government agreed on the draft
Withdrawal Agreement at the level of the negotiations. On 22 November 2018, they
agreed on the Political Declaration, which sets out the framework for the future
relationship between the EU and the UK. .
