KUCCPS EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR PLACEMENT TO UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES

Nairobi, February 16, 2024 

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) opened
application for placement of students to universities and colleges on February
7, 2024. The application targets the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary
Education (KCSE)  candidates and Form Four leavers from other years to 2000.

PORTAL NOW OPEN FOR 2024 PLACEMENT APPLICATIONS

February 8, 2024

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) wishes to
announce the opening of application for placement of students to Universities,
Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs), Technical Training Institutions (TVETS) and
the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

The online application portal will close February 22, 2024.

All the 2023 KCSE and previous years’ candidates are invited to apply.

KUCCPS OPENS APPLICATION FOR PLACEMENT TO TECHNICAL TRAINING INSTITUTIONS

December 20, 2023

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has
opened  online application for placement to Technical and Vocational Education
and Training  (TVET) institutions.

The application runs from  December 20, 2023 to January 2, 2024.

Any Form Four leaver with KCSE examination certificates from the year 2000 to
2022 and has not been placed by KUCCPS before is eligible.

PLACEMENT OF PRE-SERVICE TRAINEES TO THE KENYA MEDICAL TRAINING COLLEGE

KUCCPS invites applications from eligible and qualified secondary school
graduates for placement to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

The purpose is to to fill limited vacancies at KMTC created by students who did
not report. Applicants for KMTC programmes who were unsuccessful in the last
placement process will be given priority.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service is a State
Corporation established under the Universities Act, 2012 to coordinate the
placement of Government-sponsored students to universities and colleges, among
other functions.

REVISION OF CHOICES FOR KMTC PLACEMENT

The KUCCPS portal is open for revision of choices by applicants who applied for
KMTC courses but were not successful. The applicants have been notified by SMS
to the phone numbers provided in their previous applications.

They should log in to the KUCCPS portal students.kuccps.net and choose another
KMTC course from the programmes displayed on the portal, which are the only ones
still available for the KMTC September 2023 intake. 

The revision period is from 12th to 16th September, 2023.

Application for admission to the Open University of Kenya begins on 28th August
2023 through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service
(KUCCPS) portal.

The Open University of Kenya (OUK) was chartered on 3rd August, 2023 by His
Excellency the President, Dr. William Ruto. The university is meant to break
conventional barriers and provide opportunities for more Kenyans to access
university education in a flexible and convenient manner.

KUCCPS PARTNERS WITH KENYA NATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL TO SENSITISE STUDENTS ON
CAREERS AND NURTURE TALENT

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is a
distinguished partner in the 95th Kenya National Music Festival taking place at
the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology in Nyeri County.

As a partner and sponsor, KUCCPS is utilising the music festival as a platform
to undertake one of its core functions, which is to disseminate information on
training opportunities in universities, tertiary colleges and technical and
vocational training institutions.

KUCCPS, FUNDING AGENCIES ASSURE NEW UNIVERSITY AND TVET STUDENTS OF EQUITABLE
FUNDING

All students placed in universities and colleges this year will be funded
equitably as there is adequate budget. That was the main message as the three
government agencies responsible for placement and funding of students in
universities and colleges sensitised journalists on the New Funding Model for
Higher Education in Kenya in Naivasha on Friday.
