President & CEO Kojima's message in response to the announcements of our
consolidated financial results for the year ended March 31, 2023 and progress of
the 2024 Mid-term Management Plan.
On April 27, we announced consolidated financial results for FY2022 and the
progress of the 2024 Mid-Term Management Plan ("2024 MMP").
For FY2022, we achieved record-high profits of 10,881.1 billion yen in revenues,
884.6 billion yen in Adjusted EBITA, and 649.1 billion yen in net income
attributable to Hitachi, Ltd. stockholders. I would like to express my sincere
gratitude to all of you for your hard work, which enabled us to kickstart the
2024 MMP successfully, despite a difficult business environment due to global
economic instability, semiconductor shortages, and soaring component prices.
Regarding progress of the 2024 MMP, I explained to investors and media that
expanding the Lumada business with One Hitachi will drive Hitachi's overall
growth, and that internal and external efforts to create a decarbonized society
and a circular economy are progressing steadily.
Under the 2024 MMP, Hitachi aims to work with customers to support people's
quality of life and fosters a sustainable society through the use of data and
technology. As customer needs and social issues become increasingly diverse and
complex, addressing them will pose challenges that we have never experienced
before. Hitachi has a wide global network of talent who have joined Hitachi
Group through our business portfolio reforms, and this gives us a strong
foundation for providing solutions and products to customers around the world.
Hitachi's greatest strength lies in having a diverse team of colleagues with
various backgrounds and expertise as well as doing business that responds to
three global trends that will significantly change societies and industries:
Digital, Green, and Connective. By leveraging each colleague's strengths and
working together as One Hitachi, we can understand the needs and challenges of
our customers around the world and deliver innovations that will help build a
sustainable society.
Through inclusion of diverse talent, let's deliver Hitachi's innovations to
customers across the globe and grow as One Hitachi, transcending business and
departmental boundaries.
