Virtual Visits – also known as telehealth — is a real time, online visit with a
provider. Virtual visits are an additional way to see a provider when an
in-person visit may not be accessible or convenient.

If you get your health insurance through work, Virtual Visits may be available
to you for a variety of needs, including 24/7 Virtual Visits for urgent care,
Virtual primary care visits, Virtual therapy for behavioral health care visits
and Virtual specialty care. Coverage depends on your specific plan benefits.

same provider will take care of you over time.

HOW DO VIRTUAL VISITS WORK?

Here are the steps you’ll need to take.

 1. Complete a brief medical history anytime at myuhc.com/virtualvisits.
 2. Request a visit. For Virtual Primary Care visits, you can schedule for the
    same day or the following day.
 3. Get a diagnosis, advice and guidance on treatment in 20 minutes or less with
    24/7 Virtual Visits.
 4. Pay $493
    
    The Designated Virtual Visit Provider’s reduced rate for a 24/7 Virtual
    Visit is subject to change at any time. Average allowed amounts charged by
    UnitedHealthcare Network Providers are not tied to a specific condition or
    treatment. Actual payments may vary depending upon benefit coverage.
    Estimated Urgent Care savings are based on $131 difference between average
    Urgent Care visit cost of $180 and Virtual Visit cost of $49; $2,000.00
    difference between the average Emergency Room visit and the average urgent
    care visit. The information and estimates provided are for general
    informational and illustrative purposes only and is not intended to be nor

WHAT DO I NEED TO START A VIRTUAL VISIT?

You should have your health plan ID card, a credit card or your UnitedHealthcare
HSA Debit MasterCard® ready when you complete your brief medical history and
whenever you need a visit. It’s also helpful to have your pharmacy name and
address available in case you need a prescription2

HOW LONG WILL I NEED TO WAIT FOR CARE?

The type of virtual care you choose will have different wait times. Virtual
primary care and specialty care can be accessed within two business days. 24/7
Virtual visits have an average wait time of only 10-15 minutes.


CAN I USE VIRTUAL VISITS FOR COVID-19 CARE?

Virtual Visits providers are not able to order testing or provide vaccinations
for COVID-19. Virtual providers can help answer questions about COVID-19 and can
provide many aspects of care for acute conditions, such as COVID-19 symptoms.

Visit the COVID-19 Resource Center or contact your PCP to find COVID-19 testing
and vaccine options.

HOW SECURE IS THE INFORMATION BEING SHARED THROUGH VIRTUAL CARE?

UnitedHealthcare requires all network providers, including virtual care
providers, to comply with all applicable laws. This includes laws relating to
the confidentiality of patient information. Virtual care providers determine how
they meet privacy requirements. More information about security and privacy is
on the virtual care providers' websites.

ARE 24/7 VIRTUAL VISITS COVERED UNDER MY HEALTH PLAN?

With most UnitedHealthcare plans through work, you have benefit coverage for
24/7 Virtual Visits when:

 * You use one of the provider groups in the 24/7 Virtual Visits network.
 * You’re getting care for certain non-emergency medical conditions like the
   flu, colds, pinkeye, rashes and fevers. 

If you are a UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage member, please check your plan
materials or call the customer service number on your member ID card to confirm
coverage.

WHAT TYPES OF CARE ARE 24/7 VIRTUAL VISITS GOOD FOR?

24/7 Virtual Visits are good for:

 * Abdominal pain

 * Bladder / urinary tract infection

 * Bronchitis

Yes. In general, a parent or legal guardian must be present during the visit
with a minor dependent who is covered under your plan

National network providers for 24/7 Virtual Visits include: Optum Virtual Care,
Teladoc, Amwell, Walmart Health Virtual Care and Doctor on Demand.

ARE VIRTUAL PRIMARY CARE VISITS COVERED UNDER MY HEALTH PLAN?

With most UnitedHealthcare plans through work, you have benefit coverage for
Virtual primary care visits, along with 24/7 Virtual Visits when:

 * You use one of the provider groups in the Virtual Visits network. (Providers
   can be accessed through the myuhc.com app.)

With Virtual primary care visits you can:
 * Create an ongoing relationship with a primary care provider (PCP).
 * Be seen for preventive care, common and chronic health conditions (Diabetes,
   Heart Disease, follow-up visits and more)

If you are a UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage member, please check your plan
materials or call the customer service number on your member ID card to confirm
coverage.

WHAT KIND OF CARE CAN I GET WITH VIRTUAL PRIMARY CARE?

You can use Virtual primary care to talk to a provider online about non-urgent
medical care that’s covered by your health plan. With Virtual primary care you
access care through Optum Virtual Care. A Virtual primary care provider may help
with:

 * Preventive care (Annual wellness visits)
 * Care for common and chronic health conditions (like diabetes, heart disease
   and more)
 * Personalized referrals to specialists and labs
 * Prescriptions and refills of medications
 * Follow-up visits

Virtual primary care is available for members over the age of 18 years old. You
can use your member account for a Virtual primary care visit if you’re over 18
years old.

CAN MY CHILD OR UNDERAGE DEPENDENT USE VIRTUAL PRIMARY CARE?

No. Virtual primary care is only available to members over the age of 18 years
old. Dependents over the age of 18 can use Virtual primary care through their
own member account.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A VIRTUAL PRIMARY CARE VISIT?

Sign in to myuhc.com to schedule a Virtual primary care visit if it’s covered
under your benefit plan. Virtual primary care visits are available from 8:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

HOW MUCH AND WHEN WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR A VIRTUAL PRIMARY CARE VISIT?

You will pay the amount shown as "Your Cost" on the Virtual primary care screen
prior to the start of your visit. The cost may be applied toward your deductible
and out-of-pocket maximum, depending on your plan. You can use a credit, debit
or Health Savings Account (HSA) debit card. 

WHAT PROVIDERS ARE AVAILABLE FOR VIRTUAL PRIMARY CARE?

The national network provider for Virtual primary care is Optum Virtual Care.

WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT VIRTUAL PRIMARY CARE?

You can call the number on your health plan ID card for more information. 

ARE VIRTUAL PRIMARY CARE VISITS AVAILABLE IN LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH?

WHAT IS VIRTUAL SPECIALIST CARE?

Virtual specialist care is delivered by carefully selected specialist providers
who are trained to deliver virtual care for specific conditions or areas of
focus. These Virtual specialist providers meet quality care standards and offer
personalized care plans  to meet your needs. This care may be through video,
phone, chat, or email depending on your care need. 


VIRTUAL THERAPY (VIRTUAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE) FAQS

ARE VIRTUAL THERAPY VISITS COVERED UNDER MY PLAN?

When you use one of the provider groups in our virtual visits network for a
mental health visit, it may be covered if you have UnitedHealthcare mental
health benefits. Check your plan documents for more information about your
plan’s specific benefits. In addition, if you have Employee Assistance Program
(EAP) benefits, please contact your EAP provider for coverage and network
related questions.

WHAT TYPES OF CARE ARE VIRTUAL THERAPY VISITS GOOD FOR?

You can use Virtual therapy (Behavioral Health Care) to talk to a health
provider online about mental health care that’s covered by your health plan. You
can use Virtual therapy to get care for:

From the privacy of home, you can receive support from a licensed therapist.

 * Help with coping — for children, teens and adults. Your licensed therapist
   may provide a diagnosis, treatment and medication if needed. 
 * Appointments with the same therapist with each visit — so you can establish
   an ongoing relationship.
