They are actually pieces of protein called collagen in the vitreous gel that shrink down to little shreds and clump up. Eye floaters affect many individuals, especially if the person is myopic. Add these 7 super foods for eye floaters into your diet to see those dark squiggles and circles reduce or vanish from your vision! Ever since I got eye floaters during my early twenties, I’ve been feverishly searching for remedies to cure them fast. I’m myopic and I’ve been wearing glasses since I was ten. I also had laser surgery for retinal holes I had in both my eyes when I was about 14. So when I noticed the floaters, I was really scared and I used to spend ages searching for the right remedy to help them disappear. I soon found out that nutrition plays a BIG role in getting rid of eye floaters! One of the ways to strengthen and replenish your eyes is through proper nutrition. Fill your diet with foods rich in antioxidants and nutrients that support eye health. Some of the nutrients that you need for healthy eyes are lutein, zeaxanthin, omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin A, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, among others. You’ll find that the foods below contain most of these nutrients! 7 SUPER FOODS FOR EYE FLOATERS Here are 7 super foods for eye floaters that I regularly consume! They have worked wonders in reducing my eye floaters and eliminating them. 1. BEETROOT Beetroot also known as beet, is one of the foods I consume every single day to help with my eye floaters. In Chinese medicine, a healthy liver supports good eye health. The liver detoxifies waste from the body and nourishes the eyes with nutrient-rich blood. For a healthy liver, you should eat blood building foods like beets! Beetroot also contains lutein, zeaxanthin, B-vitamins, Vitamin C and dietary nutrients. These help improve ocular function and overall retinal health as well as lowering eye pressure. 2. CARROTS Most of us already know that carrots are one of the best foods for the eyes. This bright orange vegetable is rich in beta carotene that is converted into Vitamin A in the body. It protects vision, improves night vision, treats eye diseases and protects the cornea. You can eat one medium raw carrot every day or, make the easy Vision Juice I’ve provided a recipe for below! 3. AMLA Amla is also called Indian gooseberry. It originates from the Indian subcontinent. Do you know what’s so special and AMAZING about this fruit? Dried amla powder is proven to be the highest antioxidant food in the world! If you want to reduce and eliminate eye floaters, one of the things you must do is consuming foods rich in antioxidants. The way I like to consume amla is by mixing half a teaspoon of dried amla powder into half a cup of water and immediately chugging it down. Do this everyday to increase your antioxidant intake. You can also mix the amla powder with raw honey then consume. 4. CITRUS FRUITS Citrus fruits including oranges, lemon, limes, clementines, grapefruit, tangerine and others are super rich in Vitamin C. Vitamin C is important for eye health. It aids in forming and maintaining collagen which includes connective tissue in the body and blood vessels in the eye. It also protects the eyes from macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye syndrome and loss of visual acuity. 5. SPINACH Spinach is a leafy green that is great for eye health! It contains Vitamin A as well as two antioxidants: lutein and zeaxanthin that are concentrated in the macula. protect the macular from degeneration. Spinach is also a blood building food, that promotes a healthy liver, which ensures healthy eyes. Some people drink a cup of spinach juice every day for eye floaters but I don’t do this. I stir fry the spinach with other greens to make it more palatable. You can also add spinach when juicing and making green smoothies. 6. COLD WATER FISH One of the three main omega 3 fatty acids is DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) which is found in cold water fish and concentrated in our eyes retina. Omega 3 fatty acids are excellent for eye health! They fortify cell membranes that make up the eyes. Omega 3’s also protect the retina and slows down macular degeneration. Some of the examples of cold water fish include salmon, anchovies, herring and sardine. 7. BILBERRY Bilberry is a type of blueberry found in Europe and Northern US. In the past, it was used to improve vision and today, we’ve found out that bilberry is rich in anthocyanins. These antioxidant compounds protect the lens and eye vision during retinal inflammation. Bilberry is a superfood that may help in reducing and eliminating your eye floaters! DAILY VISION JUICE RECIPE INGREDIENTS * 1/2 beetroot * 1 apple * 1 carrot DIRECTIONS Juice the above in a high quality juicer.Or, use a high speed blender to get a puree then filter through a fine mesh strainer to get your daily Vision Juice! Consume immediately. Tom says March 6, 2019 at 3:15 pm Hi, thank you for those tips – I’ll sure gonna try amla too (did not heard about it before). I was wondering: have your floaters dissolved completely or do you still have it? Thank you in advance for any feedback! BR, Tom Reply * admin says March 6, 2019 at 4:08 pm Hello Tom, I still have floaters. But some of the big dark round floaters that disturbed me have broken up into tiny ones, and that is a big improvement. Also, my floaters were bad because it’s like there were crazy bugs flying in the room and then I realize they are floaters ARGH. I believe a diet rich in antioxidants can help with floaters so much. Hope you see a big improvement consuming these foods, especially amla. I wish you the best! Reply * Gaurav says April 9, 2019 at 4:13 am Hello, I just read your excellent article.
