AFTER 5 YEARS, THIS FAN FAVORITE BURRITO IS BACK ON THE TACO BELL MENU

Fast food restaurants release and retire special menu items all the time, but
some of them hold a place in our hearts long after they’re gone. Such was the
case for fans of Taco Bell’s Beefy Crunch Burrito. But Taco Bell gave devotees
of the burrito an opportunity to get it back on the menu for a limited time.
Earlier this spring, the brand held a vote pitting two fan favorites against
each other. In a head-to-head battle, Beefy Crunch Burrito narrowly beat The
Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco for a limited-time release.





After announcing the win a few months ago, the Beefy Crunch Burrito is
reportedly set to return to Taco Bell menus on August 3. (Though there’s a rumor
that rewards members may be getting their hands on the burrito as early as
August 1.) The burrito was originally introduced in 2010 and was put in the Taco
Bell vault not too long after, in 2011. But, it was brought back for
limited-time releases multiple times throughout the 2010s in different markets
throughout the country. The last time it was released was in 2018, which some
fans would say is five years too long.



The Beefy Crunch Burrito features seasoned beef, sour cream, seasoned rice, and
nacho cheese sauce. But what gives its signature crunch? Fritos Flamin’ Hot
Flavored Corn Chips, of course. 




Taco Bell

While we’re excited about the return of the burrito, no group is more excited
than the Beefy Crunch Burrito Movement, a Facebook group with over 60,000
followers. The group was created in 2011 following the original discontinuation
of the burrito and has stuck around for the past 12 years relentlessly
campaigning for another Beefy Crunch Burrito release.



While you await the long-awaited Beefy Crunch, you can dull your craving with a
Beefy Melt Burrito from the brand, or the limited-time-only Double Beef Volcano
Burrito.
