time the internal tank temperature increases due to the heat variations during the day and would be only slightly purged when the temperature decreases. <br> <br>Consecutive diurnal cycles progressively load the canister which
can <strong>only be purged when a new drive cycle start</strong>. <br> <br><strong><u>Case of hybrid vehicles</u></strong><br><br>Plug-in hybrid vehicles combines an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) with an electrical drive
train. <br>The <strong>ICE can be switched off for an extended period of time</strong>, rendering it <strong>unable to burn the fuel vapor which continue to accumulate in the tank</strong>. <br> <br>After a few days, the
canister is no longer able to absorb the fuel vapors and an electronically controlled tank isolation valve prevents their release into the atmosphere, in accordance with environmental regulations.<br> <br>On a sealed fuel system,
vapor generation creates <strong>internal tank pressure</strong> leading to <strong>significant deformation of the tank shell</strong>. <br> <br>Therefore, the <strong>tank shell must be reinforced</strong> with external and
internal components to <strong>minimize the tank deformations</strong>. <br> <br>To avoid or at least limit the tank pressurization or the canister load, <strong>alternatives for managing fuel vapor</strong> may be of
interest.<br></div>

the tank. <br>When the pressure inside the tank increases, the volume of the bladder reduces, so the pressure inside the tank does not change. <br>When the pressure inside the tank decreases, the volume of the bladder
increases.<br><br><strong><u>Solution # 3 – Separation device</u></strong><br><br><img class="img-editor"
