A night out with the family is supposed to be a joyful affair. Unfortunately for
the Martinez family, it proved to be one they would rather forget when they
dined in one of Manhattan’s most elite dining spots. That was all thanks to
millionaire Richard Sterling’s efforts to spoil their dinner.

Luckily, karma was just waiting to get its own back on Richard, with the man’s
life changing forever after that night. He learned the hard way that being rude
won’t get you very far and that kindness can be the cure to almost anything.


FOR THE MARTINEZ FAMILY, A FANCY NIGHT OUT WAS A RARITY

For the Martinez family, a night out somewhere like Lumiére was not a common
occurrence. With the money they made, they would be broke in an instant if they
tried to go there regularly. However, the Manhattan venue held plenty of allure
for the family, who were desperate to dine there at least once in their lives.

They saw an opportunity after their daughter won a statewide art competition,
with her success giving cause for celebration. The couple had been putting money
aside for several years now with the express purpose of enjoying a fancy meal
together. So, what better time to use that cash? Unfortunately, as glamorous as
Lumiére was, the night wasn’t without its problems.




RICHARD STERLING HAD HIS EYE ON THEM AS SOON AS THEY WALKED IN

Maria, Carlos, and young Sarah Martinez were far from the only diners at Lumiére
that night. Most of the tables in the restaurant were occupied by people who
were generally more accustomed to dining at such a place than the family of
three. However, none of the other diners really paid the trio any notice as they
enjoyed their food.

Well, none except for the gentleman sitting with several guests at a table near
the entrance. Dressed in a bespoke suit with an air of authority about him, he
had his eye on the Martinez family from the moment they walked in. The man was
Richard Sterling, a well-known CEO whose reputation preceded him, and not in a
good way.


STERLING OPENLY MOCKED THE MARTINEZ FAMILY FOR VISITING A PLACE LIKE LUMIÉRE

Richard Sterling was not a kind man. He had never seen the need to be one. The
man had excelled in his business without any niceties and had seemingly been
awarded for his rudeness and arrogance. So, when he noticed the Martinez family
entering Lumiére, he didn’t hesitate to mock the family for going somewhere that
they didn’t “belong.”

Although he didn’t declare his remarks to the entire restaurant, Richard made
fun of the trio loudly enough for the Martinez family to hear. His words drew
laughter from the guests at his table, but Maria and Carlos did their best to
simply ignore what was going on. They didn’t want one bully to spoil their nice
night out.
