Welcome to Cowan Audio Services in Wellington and its owner Glen who can repair
and service amplifiers, audio and stereo hifi equipment whether it be modern,
classic or vintage. We specialise in servicing and restoring vintage stereo &
audio equipment and also repair & restore valve radios.


Based out in Lower Hutt at 265 Waiwhetu Road stands a very experienced,
qualified audio technician and a long time enthusiast and prides himself in
providing a high quality service and will treat and repair your equipment as if
it were his own. The slideshow below is just a small sample of what I can work

 * UPON BRINGING IN ANY REPAIRS THERE WILL BE AN INITIAL INSPECTION/EVALUATION
   FEE OF $100 (INCL GST) PER UNIT PAYABLE UP FRONT. THIS AMOUNT COMES OFF TO
   TOTAL REPAIR CHARGE ONCE THE JOB IS COMPLETED. FROM THERE AN ESTIMATED COST
   WILL BE GIVEN TO REPAIR IT. THIS ALSO COVERS TIME SPENT LOOKING AT AND
   DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM/S AND NON-REFUNDABLE SHOULD THE UNIT BE DEEMED TO BE
   UNECONOMICAL/UNREPAIRABLE. EFTPOS OR CASH IS FINE AND UNFORTUNATELY WE DON’T
   HAVE A CREDIT CARD OPTION.
   


 IF ANY EQUIPMENT IS BROUGHT IN WITH ITS TOP COVER OFF, OR HAS BEEN INTERFERED
IN SOME WAY WILL NOT BE TAKEN IN AS A REPAIR.


Among my many talents is servicing and restoring classic and vintage audio as
there now is a call for this equipment needing to be serviced. 
Pioneer/Sansui/Kenwood are some of my favorites (since I collect these brands)
but will service any other brand such as –  Kenwood, Yamaha, Luxman, Sony,
Marantz, Accuphase, Rotel, Hitachi, Quad, Leak, Rogers, Arcam, Cambridge,
Musical Fidelity plus more…. and as I have a passion for classic audio
equipment, I enjoy bringing old Hifi back to life.  Your equipment can be
anything from the 1960’s/1970’s/1980’s/1990’s.


The massive influx of poorly constructed, mass produced amplifiers in recent
years, has seen huge volumes of electronic components end up in the land fills.
Nothing says more about the quality of the construction than “It’s cheaper to
throw away and replace than spend the time to repair”. As a result of this,
finding good quality repair services for cherished vintage amplifiers has been
difficult.  Until now – This is where I step in to save good quality older
equipment from ending up being thrown away so it can be made to function again.


I have a fully setup and well equipped workshop with all the tools and test
equipment to properly diagnose and repair or overhaul your unit.


My interest in this field since has been a life long interest since I was young
so you can be rest assured that your repair is in the right hands. Click on the
