BORALEX BUYS FRENCH ONSHORE WIND CO ECOTERA, 100 MW OF PROJECTS

Canadian renewables developer Boralex Inc (TSE:BLX) has acquired French onshore
wind project developer Ecotera Developpement along with an over 100-MW portfolio
of eight wind projects in France.

Boralex said on Thursday it has signed an agreement that covers the last tranche
of a previously agreed deal with Ecotera for the purchase of a larger portfolio
of assets. The acquired projects, all of which are at different stages of
development, will bring the Canadian firm’s development portfolio in France to
over a gigawatt.

The latest deal also includes the acquisition of Ecotera itself, which has
developed more than 350 MW of wind power projects in the past few years.

“With this acquisition, Boralex stands to benefit from numerous operational
synergies, while fully capitalizing on its unique and integrated model as
developer, prime contractor and operator of its projects,” said Patrick
Decostre,vice-president and general manager, Boralex Europe.
