Sanofi tiene una importante presencia en nuestro país y una fuerte implicación
en términos de contribución socioeconómica, actividad industrial y comercial,
inversión en I+D+i y compromiso con la sociedad. Además, es donde se desarrollan
algunos de los proyectos digitales internacionales más relevantes de la
Compañía. Para ello, cuenta con cerca de 1.500 empleados y empleadas, dos sedes
(Barcelona y Madrid), un centro digital global (ubicado también en la Ciudad
Condal) y una planta de producción de más de 50 años de actividad (Girona), así
como un equipo comercial distribuido por todo el territorio. Según el informe
'Huella económica y de I+D' del Institut Wiford, Sanofi España contribuye con
716M de euros al PIB español y por cada uno de los empleados y empleadas se
apoyan 5,9 puestos de trabajo adicionales en la economía nacional.

ESTAS SON LAS ENFERMEDADES INFLAMATORIAS TIPO 2

¿Qué tienen en común la dermatitis atópica, el asma, la poliposis nasal o la
esofagitis eosinofílica? Son enfermedades crónicas causadas por un mismo
desencadenante: la inflamación tipo 2. O lo que es lo mismo, por una respuesta
exagerada del sistema inmune ante diversos agentes externos, y que afectan a la
piel, las vías respiratorias o el tracto digestivo, entre otros. Según varios
estudios, las personas con una enfermedad inflamatoria tipo 2 tienen más
predisposición a presentar más patologías del mismo grupo. Todas ellas afectan
tanto a la salud física como mental y causan un gran impacto en la calidad de
vida de quienes las padecen.

LUCÍA, LA PRIMERA ESPAÑOLA EN SER TRATADA DE UNA RARA LISOSOMAL HACE 30 AÑOS

Se cumplen tres décadas de la llegada a España de la primera terapia para una
enfermedad rara de depósito lisosomal. Concretamente, para la enfermedad de
Gaucher. La primera paciente en ser tratada fue Lucía Badía: tenía 16 años y
acababa de ser diagnosticada por el Dr. Pérez Calvo.
