Hiring out to bespoke built camper vans (offgrid) fully loaded with gas,
electric, wifi, solar paneled, outdoorshower, tv, oven, hob, sink, fridge,
freezer, water. 4 berth with poptop roofs for all round comfort.


ABOUT US

I started the business by chance – my partner and I with our loving GSD love the
outdoors so we purchased a van, and we converted it over a number of months in
evenings and weekends.

On completion we started to tour the UK and we loved wild camping however the
van came with some challenges, and you only know this after being out in it over
periods of time. After the first summer I took the van back off the road and
stripped it down and rebuilt it with wild camping in mind for days on end. 

The finished product is what we have today, and we love it! All our friends and
family started to borrow the van as I wanted them to all share the experience of
being outdoors and free but with the mod cons to hand as you have at home so the
best of both worlds.

One van wasn’t enough more and more people wanted to experience the fun we had
in Betty so then Burt was born – he came as a van and once again we set about to
rebuild Burt to be truly part of the family. Having two vans means we can let
many people truly enjoy the beautiful hidden sights of GB.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE

The price includes insurance for one driver, 21-75, full clean UK driving
licence. If you are aged 21-23 we will require further information prior to
booking. Additional driver insurance, insurance for drivers with points, non UK
drivers can be provided (there is an additional charge for this). The driver
will need to visit the DVLA website and follow the instructions in order to get
the DVLA code to be sent to hello@campertribe.co.uk before delivery.


MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD

 * 2 days: Jan – Feb
 * 3 days: March – June
 * 7 days: July – August
 * 3 days: Sept – November
 * 2 days: December


CAN I SMOKE IN THE CARAVAN

All our camper vans are no smoking.


ARE PETS ALLOWED?

Yes pet’s are allowed but there is a £50 Valeting Charge as standard.


WHAT PAYMENT TYPES DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept both debit and credit cards (with the exception of American Express).


CAN I GO OUTSIDE THE UK?

We are more than happy for you to take your tribe to the EU. There is a small
additional charge of just £15.00 per day.


WHAT DO YOU NEED BEFORE WE START OUR ADVENTURE?

 1. DVLA Licence Check Code (UK license only)

ARE THERE TOILET AND SHOWER FACILITIES ON BOARD THE CAMPER VAN?

Our Campers do not come equipped with Toilet or Shower Facilities on board, you
would need access these at your campsite.


WHAT ABOUT THE RENTAL VEHICLES – WHAT IF THE PREVIOUS USERS HAD COVID-19?

Here at Camper Tribe, we have a set cleaning protocol that all of our fully
trained staff follow. All of our vehicles are thoroughly cleaned inside and out
in between each rental.

The mattress is santitsied between each rental and has a new mattress protector
replaced for every new hire. Our cleaners wear protective gear including masks
and gloves to make sure no traces are left behind. We also provide cleaning
sprays for each rental to keep the vans as clean as possible whilst you’re away.


WILL THE HANDOVER BE SAFE?

Your safety is our main concern, so we have set a few rules to make the handover
risk-free for everyone. Staff will be wearing a mask at all times – we suggest
you do the same!

All documents and keys will be exchanged without any physical contact, and we
will keep a 1m distance from you at all times.

You can even have your vehicle delivered and picked up again from your home
(charges apply) meaning that you are literally moving directly from your home
bubble to your new bubble on wheels and nowhere else. This service can be
selected at checkout.

48 hour hires ‘try before you buy’ available Dec – Feb.

WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR

We offer off-road parking at owners own risk.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BOOK

 1. A driver aged between 25 and 70
 2. A full UK licence for a minimum 24 months
 3. Two forms of proof of address
 4. Payment


COLLECTION

The collection time is 3pm but we can be flexible. Please allow 1 hour for
handover of camper van as the hirer is under obligation to be part of a detailed
introduction to the van by the owner (so we can show where and everything
works).


RETURNING

The collection time is 3pm but we can be flexible. The return time is strictly
3pm! If late, you may be liable to pay a delay fee equal to a day’s hire.
The vehicle must be returned by renter with toilet empty.
On returning the vehicle, the hirer is under obligation to carry out a final
examination of it together with the owner. Any damage not specific at the time
of inspection with both parties the van will be at the renters expense.


CANCELLATION

If you need to cancel more than 6 weeks before your booking, no further payment
will be required, however the initial £150 deposit per week of booking will be
non-refundable.

If cancellation is less than 6 weeks, (is 2 weeks before travel) you will be
charged 50% of total hire.

If cancellation is less than 2 weeks, unfortunately you will be charged 100% of
the total hire.
