Abu Dhabi remains to be the safe, awe-inspiring and culturally rich destination
you last visited. We are now open to all vaccinated travellers and ready to
welcome you. Find out about the procedures to keep you safe while travelling to

ARE YOU VACCINATED?


IF YOU ARE VACCINATED, OR EXEMPT FROM VACCINATION...



 * Effective from Sunday, 5 September 2021 Abu Dhabi has lifted all quarantine
   procedures for all vaccinated travellers from around the world allowing
   seamless entry to the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi
 * To check the list of World Health Organisation (WHO) approved vaccines,
   please click here
 * To validate your vaccination or your exemption certificate in Abu Dhabi, five
   days before your travel date, download the Federal Authority of Identity and
   Citizenship (ICA UAE Smart) app or visit the ica.gov.ae website to complete
   the 'Register Arrivals Form' and attach your vaccination certificate(s) for
   approval
 * An SMS will confirm approval of the registration form and vaccination
   certificates and include a link to download Alhosn app, which enables users
   to show test results and vaccination status and is used to enter public
   places in Abu Dhabi, which is limited to those vaccinated
 * Take a PCR test within 48 hours of departure from origin destination and only
   fly if the test result is negative
 * Upon arrival in Abu Dhabi, travellers will receive a Unified ID number from
   airport immigration or via the ICA UAE Smart app or ica.gov.ae website; this
   is required to complete the registration on Alhosn app.
 * You will also need to take a PCR test upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International
   airport, with the result received within 90 minutes
 * You can then depart the airport and wait in your accommodation for the
   results
 * If the result is negative, Alhosn will automatically show ‘green’ status
 * Children under 12 years and individuals with official exemptions do not need
   to take a PCR test upon arrival
 * As an alternative to using the app, visit m.Alhosnapp.ae to check your latest
   PCR test result
 * If coming from Green List countries, travellers will need to take another PCR
   test on day 6 (counting the day of arrival as day 1), available at their
   convenience within hotel accommodations
 * If coming from non-Green List countries, travellers will need to take another
   PCR test on day 4 and day 8. PCR tests will be available at their convenience
   with hotel accomodations.

IF YOU ARE UNVACCINATED...



 * Take a PCR test within 48 hours of departure from origin destination and only
   fly if the test result is negative
 * Unvaccinated travellers from Green List countries and regions are welcomed to
   Abu Dhabi with no quarantine measures. And must take a PCR test on day 6 and
   day 9 (Day 1 being the day of arrival)
 * Unvaccinated travellers coming from non-green list countries must undergo
   quarantine measures. On arrival into Abu Dhabi International Airport,
   download and register on Alhosn app, available in all smart phone app stores
 * Take a free PCR test and receive the result in approximately 90 minutes
   through the Alhosn app and via SMS. Travellers must be fitted with a
   wristband, which you are required to wear during the quarantine period
 * Depart the airport and quarantine at your accommodation for 10 days and take
   a PCR test at a SEHA Prime Testing Facility on day 9. If it is negative, you
   can remove the wristband at the same facility
 * Click here to check if your destination of departure to Abu Dhabi is on the
   emirate’s Green List.
 * If you are unvaccinated and transiting through a Green List country from a
   non-Green List country to Abu Dhabi and have spent less than 10 days in a
   Green List location before arriving in Abu Dhabi, you must complete the
   quarantine in Abu Dhabi.
 * The time spent in the Green List country prior to arriving in Abu Dhabi will
   count towards the 10-day quarantine period.
 * For example: Unvaccinated passenger A spends time in a non-Green List
   location, and then spends four days in a Green List country before travelling
   to Abu Dhabi. Passenger A will quarantine for 6 days in order to complete the
   10-day total

*Important: Children under 12 and those with medical exemptions do not need to
undergo COVID-19 PCR testing before departure.



WELCOME TO ABU DHABI!

Abu Dhabi has implemented strict precautionary measures to protect all community
members in the emirate. Effective 20th August 2021, entry to some public places
in Abu Dhabi is limited to those vaccinated, officially exempted or aged under
16 years, as part of continuous efforts to protect health and safety.


Entry to Public Places

Entry to some public places in Abu Dhabi emirate is only allowed for those who
are fully vaccinated, officially exempted or aged under 16 years, and who also
have ‘green’ status on the Alhosn app, which requires following the approved
testing requirements:

 * Vaccinated must receive a negative PCR test result every 30 days to maintain
   ‘green’ status
 * Officially exempted must receive a negative PCR test result every 7 days to
   maintain ‘green’ status
 * Children aged under 16 years automatically receive ‘green’ status without the
   need to test

The public places limited to those vaccinated, exempted or children are shopping
centres, restaurants and cafes; other retail outlets including those not in
shopping centres; gyms and recreational facilities; health clubs and resorts;
museums and cultural centres; universities and institutes; theme parks; and
cinemas.

To gain access to the specified public places, individuals will need to present
Alhosn app to show the ‘green’ status.

Entry to events also requires ‘green’ status plus a negative PCR test result
received within 48 hours of the event.


Venue Capacities from 20 August 2021

 * Shopping malls, entertainment centres, cultural centres, museums, and movie
   theatres capacity has increased to 80%
 * Hotels can operate at 100% capacity
 * Restaurants and cafes capacity has increased to 80%, allowing up to 10 people
   to sit at one table, if facemasks are worn when not dining
 * Health clubs, sports academies, gyms, and spas can operate at 50% capacity
 * Community and sport events, corporate events such as exhibitions and
   conferences, and entertainment events including theatre plays and concerts
   capacity has been increased to 60%. The capacity for wedding halls has
   increased to 60%, with a maximum of 100 people
 * Public transportation can operate up to 75% capacity, and taxi drivers can
   travel with up to three passengers in a five-person taxi and four passengers
   in a seven-person taxi


Protocols for Mask-wearing

It is mandatory to wear a mask in all public places - exemptions include:

 * Children under the age of two
 * People with severe disabilities (this group must be able to provide a
   relevant medical report if required)
 * People with respiratory symptoms (This group must be able to provide a
   medical report that specifies their difficulty with mask wearing)

IF A TRAVELLER BECOMES ILL WITH COVID-19 WHILE IN ABU DHABI, CAN THEY ACCESS
MEDICAL FACILITIES IN THE EMIRATE?



Yes. To find your nearest medical facilities click here 

If a traveller suspects they have COVID-19 or have come into contact with a
positive case, they should immediately visit an emergency room (severe symptoms)
or a SEHA Prime Testing Facility (non-severe symptoms or no symptoms) and follow
the approved protocol. Symptoms could include a fever, cough, sore throat,
difficulty breathing, or headache, please contact the health authorities
immediately.

or access to healthcare in Abu Dhabi, phone the 24-hour ISTIJABA call centre on
800 1717.

For further information about COVID-19, access the Department of Health - Abu
Dhabi website, which provides up-to-date and verified information about
protecting oneself from the virus, virtual assistance on the illness and FAQs on
how to stay safe and contain the spread of coronavirus. The website also
provides real-time statistics on the number of people infected and recovered.

DO TOURISTS HAVE TO BEAR THE COSTS OF TREATMENT/QUARANTINE OR ANY ADDITIONAL
TESTS REQUIRED IN THE EVENT OF COMING INTO CONTACT WITH OR CONTRACTING COVID-19?



All costs for quarantining and medical assistance, regardless of the facility or
accommodation will be at the cost of the individual. Travellers to Abu Dhabi are
strongly advised to have a travel insurance policy with international coverage
that includes COVID-19 before travelling to any destination.

If there is a medical emergency, visit a SEHA medical facility.
