Hi, I'm Garrett Linton and I'm a Systems Engineer at SAIC. I'm leaving work a
little bit earlier than anticipated today because I got one of those dreaded
phone calls from the school nurse that my son isn't feeling well and I need to
come pick him up. I wanted to tell you all of the main reasons I enjoy working
for SAIC. It's the flexibility, the professional team environment that SAIC

JOB DESCRIPTION

Description

SAIC’s National Intelligence Community (NIC) business unit, USG Mission and
Information Technology division provides solutions and services supporting
digital modernization programs in areas such as data science and analytics,
cloud computing, cyber security, AI/ML, software/application development,
SecDevOps, network operations, and secure communications.

SAIC seeks a Systems Engineer to enhancement and support new develop for systems
engineering, development, integration and implementation activities to include
deploying and operating tools and services on multiple environments.

 * Develop and maintain Systems Engineering processes and strategy
 * Consult and review program process and metrics tailoring
 * Provide guidance on data analysis, validation, and planning
 * Function as contract support on all aspects of the systems life cycle
   including ConOp development, capturing requirements, working with developers
   to deliver capability, testing to ensure capabilities meet requirements,
   transition to operations and operations support.
 * Advise team to aid in the delivery of robust, scalable cloud-based software
   architecture that meets or exceeds mission management requirements with a
   focus on scheduling
 * Evaluate ongoing maintenance and development meets readiness requirements to
   support enterprise test activities
 * Provide creative and innovative architectural solutions to ill-defined
   requirements
 * Review and assess impact of proposed scope changes to future architectures

Qualifications

 * Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
 * Bachelor’s Degree in STEM-related discipline
 * Twenty years of related IT experience
 * Experience in service-oriented architecture, web services, and Application
   Programming Interfaces
 * Experience in decomposing application components and determining how to
   leverage various technologies found with modern cloud services
 * Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in enterprise data strategy, data
   governance practices, data stewardship principles, data architecture
   principles, data standards, and metadata management best
   practices                      
 * Ability to translate requirements into end-to-end designs for systems that
   involve multiple interfaces and supporting data repositories

Desired Skills:

 * Strong acquisition background in an agile environment
 * Experience with successful full life-cycle development projects
 * Experience with Jira, Confluence and/or Service Now as user
 * Experience in monitoring and testing  performance and technical systems
 * Experience in building and deploying systems on the Cloud, using CI/CD
   frameworks and Infrastructure automation
 * Cloud certification: AWS, Azure, Google or similar
