OUR VICE CHANCELLOR

Dr. Rajeevan Madhavan Nair, is a distinguished Climate Scientist, boasting over
38 years of research experience in weather and climate science. Dr. Rajeevan's
illustrious career has been marked by significant contributions to various
prestigious institutions.

Currently serving as the MOES Distinguished Scientist at the National Centre for
Earth Science Studies, Trivandrum, Dr. Rajeevan's career includes impactful
roles at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, the India
Meteorological Department, and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology
under the Department of Space (DOS). Dr. Rajeevan left an indelible mark during
his tenure as Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Earth
Sciences, retiring from government service on July 31, 2021. His tenure
witnessed pioneering contributions, including the launch of the ambitious Rs
4200 crore Deep Ocean Mission and the development of India's Blue Economy and
Arctic policies.

Dr. Rajeevan's research focus has encompassed Indian monsoon variability,
monsoon seasonal prediction, climate change, and extreme weather events,
showcasing his commitment to advancing meteorological sciences. With over 160
research papers, an H-Index of 56, and more than 14,800 citations, his scholarly
impact is evident. A Fellow of all three Science Academies of India and an
Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, Paris, Dr. Rajeevan is
currently a member of the Research Board of the UN/World Meteorological
Organization (WMO) in Geneva. His accolades include editing two books published
by Springer: "Climate Variability and Change over the Indian Region" and
"Societal and Economic Impact of Earth Sciences."

Dr. Madhavan Nair Rajeevan's multifaceted expertise and profound contributions
make him a pivotal figure in Atria University's pursuit of academic excellence

Chairman - Advisory Board
Honorary Professor - Indian Institute of Science (IISc)

Prof. Anurag Kumar, a distinguished figure in Electrical Communication
Engineering, served as the Director of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in
Bangalore from 2014 to 2020. With a BTech degree from IIT Kanpur and a PhD from
Cornell University, he joined IISc in 1988. His extensive career includes a
significant tenure at AT&T Bell Labs, where he delved into computer systems and
communication networks.

Prof. Kumar's contributions extend from pioneering research in communication
networks and cyber-physical systems to impactful roles as the Coordinator of the
nationwide Education and Research Network (ERNET) Project. Recognized with
awards like the IISc Alumni Award for Excellence in Engineering Research ... and
the CDAC-ACCS Foundation Award, he is a Fellow of prestigious institutions,
including the Indian National Academy of Engineering and the Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Currently, as an Honorary Professor at IISc, Prof. Kumar continues his academic
pursuits, consultancy, and active involvement in national committees. His legacy
at IISc and his ongoing contributions underscore his expertise and dedication to
advancing the field of Electrical Communication Engineering.

Prof. S. Raghunath, a prominent figure in Corporate Strategy and Policy,
currently serves as the Chairman of The South Asia Board Academy of
International Business. With an illustrious career spanning three decades at IIM
Bangalore, he has held pivotal roles, including Dean (Admin), Chairperson of the
Corporate Strategy and Policy area and the NS Raghavan Centre for
Entrepreneurial Learning. He has also chaired the IIMB International Student
Exchange program.

As a renowned expert in international business, his teaching portfolio includes
courses on strategy, strategic alliances, and e-business strategies in
postgraduate and doctoral programs. He has coached senior managers from top
Indian and multinational companies, ... offering his expertise to industry
giants like General Electric, IBM, and Wipro. He is also a member of the
Advisory Council of the RBI, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

Prof. Raghunath's influence extends globally; he was a visiting scholar at
Stanford University, researching strategy-making in high-tech companies. He
serves as an independent director on corporate and academic boards, enriching
both sectors with his strategic insights and leadership. With a wealth of
experience, Prof. Raghunath continues to shape the landscape of corporate

Former Professor - Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore

Prof. Umesh Varshney, an eminent Indian molecular biologist, heads a laboratory
at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. His groundbreaking studies on
protein synthesis and DNA repair in Escherichia coli and Mycobacterium
tuberculosis have earned him numerous accolades. A J.C. Bose National Fellow,
he's recognized by institutions like the Indian Academy of Sciences and the
National Academy of Sciences.

Varshney's illustrious career began after completing his doctoral studies in
Canada and post-doctoral research at MIT. Since 1991, he has significantly
contributed to our understanding of mycobacterial biology, uncovering critical
interactions within ribosomes and exploring DNA repair pathways.... His work has
led to potential drug targets and attenuated strains.

Recipient of the National Bioscience Award, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, and
G.N. Ramachandran Gold Medal, Varshney's influence extends beyond research. He
has mentored scholars, organised international workshops, and delivered keynote
addresses at scientific conferences. Varshney's legacy in molecular biology
continues to inspire and shape the future of scientific discovery.

of education and research at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) since 1979.
Beginning as a dedicated B.E. student, he progressed to Chair the Department of
CSA and later served as the Dean of EECS. His global impact is evident through
his roles at MIT and NIST, USA.
A recipient of prestigious accolades, including the J.C. Bose National
Fellowship, Prof. Narahari is an elected fellow of esteemed institutions,
including IEEE and Indian National Academy of Engineering. His leadership has
extended to pivotal projects like DIGITS and influential clusters at IISc. ...

Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI) is a Research & Development
organization providing ‘Technology Solutions’ to assist technological growth in
the country. CMTI plays a key role in applied research, design, and development
(RD&D), technology forecasting, assimilation, and dissemination of manufacturing
technology to Indian industries.

This Government of India Society has continuously aligned its facilities and
expertise with the fast-changing technology in thrust areas of Nanotechnology,
Precision engineering, Metrology (Micro and Nano), Additive Manufacturing,
Mechatronics, Vision and Image processing, Digital Design, Product Lifecycle
Management (PLM) and Human Resource Development. Creating ‘Industry Ready’
engineers is the current area of focus of the Institute.

CMTI is an autonomous institution and administratively controlled by the
Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Government of India.
