Six artists will receive a Heritage Award on May 31, 2023 at a public ceremony in Raleigh. Meet the Recipients MARCH IS YOUTH ART MONTH Youth Art Month is an annual celebration that recognizes the value of visual art education in a student's overall success. The 2022-2023 theme is "Your Art, Your Voice," and the winning art banner presenting the theme is by Cecelia Dahl of Topsail High School in Burgaw, NC. Arts Council’s grants are one of the many ways we invest in sustaining and advancing our diverse and widespread network of arts organizations and artists. LOCAL ARTS COUNCIL DIRECTORY More than 75 local arts councils support the 100 counties across our state to provide programs, services and funding to local organizations to strengthen the arts in their own communities. WHAT WE DO: THE ARTS COUNCIL The North Carolina Arts Council delivers resources to arts organizations and artists to support projects and programs of public value that revitalize downtowns, educate and empower North Carolina youths, and fuel a thriving non-profit creative sector that generates over $2 billion annually.
