HOW TO CARE FOR CURLY HAIR: FIRST KNOW WHAT YOUR HAIR-POROSITY IS

So If you’re still reading I’m sure you want to know how to care for your sweet
curly hair. We will certainly get to all the tips and tricks. First and
foremost, you need to know how porous your hair is. There are three types of
hair porosity; Low, Medium, and High. In this blog, we will just focus on low
and high porosity types. Hair porosity just means how open your hair cuticle is
to retaining moisture. If you want to determine this, there is a very simple
method called the strand test. What you can do is yank out a strand of hair from
your scalp (just joking, please don’t. Just grab some from your brush or
something) and put it in a glass of water. If that strand floats on the surface
then you most likely have low porosity hair. If it sinks, that indicates you
have high porosity hair. Go try it out! After determining this then you can
learn how to care for curly hair. It becomes much easier to pick products based
on your hair porosity.
