NEW WORDS AND MEANINGS ADDED: SEPTEMBER 2023

On the move? This month we’ve added over 160 new words and meanings, and our
focus this time is on travel and transport.

Many of these new words reflect changes in technology, with new modes of
transport like maglev and AGV, while others illustrate developments in our
transport systems, such as ride-hailing, BRT or smart motorway. Going out? You
might want to jump in your hot hatch and put it in drive, but if you live in a
low traffic neighbourhood, micromobility becomes a big issue, and it might just
be easier to get on your e-scooter or your city bike.
