TRANS-TASMAN FARES

Our trans-Tasman fares are for flights between New Zealand and Perth, Brisbane,
Melbourne, Cairns, Sydney, Adelaide, the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast in
Australia.

We offer two different fare types when travelling to Australia, our Smart Saver
and Flexi fares. You can book different fares for each leg of your journey.

All our trans-Tasman fares are eligible for Airpoints Dollars™ and Status
Points, unless booked F class (grabaseat™ fares) or purchased with
Airpoints Dollars. Each fare has a different earning rate. For details see our

SMART SAVER VS FLEXI, IF YOU NEED MORE FLEXIBILITY

When you're booking online, the Flexi fare option is one of the extras you can
add. Most Business Premier™ fares are already Flexi fares, but sometimes there
are discounted 'Business Saver' fares that are non-refundable and come with the
Smart Saver rules.


CANCELLATIONS

Smart Saver fares are non-refundable, whereas Flexi fares are fully refundable.
If you buy a Smart Saver fare and later upgrade it to a Flexi fare, only the
upgrade portion will be eligible for a refund.


CHANGES

Name changes are not permitted on any fares, so you can't transfer them to
another person.

Both Smart Saver and Flexi fares let you change your flights right up until
departure. You'll have to pay any fare difference, and a service fee if not
changing online. 

For Smart Saver fares there's a booking change fee of NZD $100 per person
(infants excluded), unless you're upgrading to Premium Economy or Business
Premier on the same flight. There is no booking change fee for Flexi fares.


NO SHOWS

If you don't show up in time for your flight, with a Smart Saver fare that
sector of your journey will be cancelled with no refund. With a Flexi fare
however, a no show is fully refundable.


SEATS TO SUIT, FIND THE RIGHT OPTION FOR YOU

Our Seats to Suit fares* allow you to choose from different seat options, so
you'll only pay for the baggage allowance, comfort features and extras that you
need.

CARD PAYMENT FEE WHEN BOOKING


FOR BOOKINGS MADE IN NEW ZEALAND

If you choose to pay by credit card, a card payment fee of NZD $7.10 (per person
per one-way Australia journey) will be added to your booking. To avoid paying
this fee you can pay by Airpoints Dollars, Air NZ Travelcard or POLi.


FOR BOOKINGS MADE IN AUSTRALIA

Paying for your booking with a charge, credit or debit card incurs a percentage
based fee that differs by card type. To avoid paying this fee you can pay by
Airpoints Dollars, Air NZ Travelcard or POLi.
