The Fungo were ahead 2-0 after the first inning. The Steamers will be back in action tomorrow night, July 16th, at Historic Hicks Field against the Greenbrier Knights. The Steamers’ 14 all-stars is the most of any team in the PCL this season. The Clams will be represented by five pitchers, eight position players, and one DH in the matchup of the league’s best. RHP Michael Allen, RHP Cole Bates, RHP Jacob Lawler, RHP Chris Morris, and LHP Nicky Wohleking were the five pitchers selected for the game. These are the most all-star pitchers in one season for the teal and black since the 2020 season, when the team had eight all-stars on the mound. Read More * Steamer News STEAMERS SUFFER CLOSE LOSS TO RIVER BANDITS IN TARBORO By Luke Meli / July 17, 2022 Tarboro, NC - The Edenton Steamers fell to the Tarboro River Bandits Sunday night, 8-6, at Tarboro Municipal Stadium. It was the first game back for Edenton following four consecutive games being canceled due to rain. This marks the Steamers’ sixth loss to the River Bandits this season, out of eight total losses. The Steamers got on the board in the first inning. Bryce Stephens and Chase Bruno reached base to lead off the game. When they moved to second and third on a double steal, Nate Paulsen chopped an infield single to bring home the first run of the night. While the game is canceled, the Jim Catfish Hunter ALS Foundation promotions, including auctioning off the special themed ALS/Jim Catfish Hunter jerseys, will be moved to July 29th, when the Steamers take on the Norfolk Redbirds at Historic Hicks Field.
