<span class="smallBlack"> MMCI has been approved by the Medical Board of California for purposes of meeting the California Code of Regulations, Section 1366.3(c)(1) standards. In addition to its non-profit status, MMCI was required
to meet standards that include: <ul>
<li>Providing a psychometrically valid examination that is secure, occupationally relevant, and tests the skills and procedures outlined in Section 1366;</li>
<li>Providing eligibility paths for certification meeting the Medical Board standards; and</li>
<li>Requiring certificants to obtain a minimum of 60 hours of continuing education related to the practice of medical assisting over a 5 year period.</li>
</ul> The National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification program has been granted accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the accrediting arm of the Institute for Credentialing
Excellence. In addition, the NCMA certification examination has been approved by the Medical Assistant Education Review Board (MAERB) for use as an outcome measure by Medical Assistant programs holding accreditation by the
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) has similarly approved the NCMA certification examination as an outcome measure for annual
reporting purposes. </span>

<span class="smallBlack"> MMCI has been approved by the California Health and Human Services Agency, Department of Public Health, Laboratory Field Services since 2003 to provide examination services for qualified candidates seeking
California state certification as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT1). <br><br> MMCI contracts with the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) to provide its National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT)
certification examination, as the NCPT certification program has earned accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). MMCI wanted to be sure California CPT1 candidates would hold a quality certification
recognized in all fifty states, including the state of California. </span>
