Zurich Resilience Solutions, a unit of Zurich Insurance Group Ltd., on Wednesday
named Lisa Leftwich as head of sustainability services.


GALLAGHER BUYS SPECIALTY ENTERTAINMENT BROKER

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Wednesday it has acquired Nashville,
Tennessee-based specialty entertainment broker ABBM Co. LLC, which does business
as Anderson Benson.


RYAN SPECIALTY Q4 REVENUE JUMPS, EXPECTS STRONG 2023

Ryan Specialty Holdings Inc. reported a 14.9% increase in fourth-quarter revenue
to $435 million, and expects a strong year in 2023, despite an uncertain

 * BANGLADESH FIRM TO GET $22 MILLION PAYOUT FOR MISSILE-HIT VESSEL
   
   State-owned Bangladesh Shipping Corp. is expected to receive an insurance
   payout of $22.5 million for its vessel Banglar Samriddhi, which was damaged
   by a missile explosion in Ukraine in March 2022, Reuters reported. The vessel
   is insured through Bangladesh-based Sadharan Bima Corp. and reinsured through
   U.K.-based Beazley PLC and Tysers Insurance Brokers Ltd. This will be one of
   the first shipping claim settlement to be paid since the start of the
   Russia-Ukraine war.

 * ARGO GROUP’S PREMIUMS DOWN OVER 12%
   
   Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Argo Group International Holdings Ltd.
   reported a 12.2% year-on-year decrease in gross written premiums to $644.5
   million in the fourth quarter of 2022 due to the sale of its businesses Argo
   Underwriting Agency Ltd. and Lloyd’s Syndicate 1200, Reinsurance News
   reported. The insurer posted a net loss of $111.8 million, compared to a loss
   of $117.8 million in the year-ago period.

 * TOWER LTD.’S PREMIUMS UP NEARLY 13%
   
   New Zealand-based insurer Tower Ltd.’s gross written premiums increased 12.5%
   year-on-year to $123 million New Zealand ($75.86 million) in the first
   quarter ended Dec 31, 2022, despite the impact of natural catastrophes,
   Reinsurance News reported. The strong premium growth, together with proper
   cost control helped the insurer improve its management expense ratio to 35%
   from 38% in the year-ago period. Tower expects the final cost of the Auckland
   and Upper North Island weather event to be between NZD95 million and NZD125
   million.

 * AUTOMAKERS HALT PRODUCTION OVER PART SHORTAGE
   
   Major Japanese automakers Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Suzuki Motor Corp. and
   Toyota Motor Corp., have cut production as they face a shortage of automotive
   semiconductors, SemiMedia reported citing Nikkei. Honda’s Yorii plant in
   Saitama Prefecture will see a 10% reduction in production due to the
   semiconductors shortage and logistics delays. Suzuki plans to halt operations
   at the Kosai plant and the Sagara plant in Shizuoka Prefecture, while Toyota
   will suspend some production lines at its Motomachi plant in March.
