The Colonnade: The Colonnade is open 24 hours for our resident guests and has a
delightful menu of freshly prepared comfort food. The tall glass doors offer
superb views of the palace lawns and gardens. Non-resident guests are welcome at
certain times, but are required to make a reservation in advance.

51 Shades of Pink: 51 Shades of Pink is dedicated to the colour of Jaipur, which
gives Rajasthan’s capital the name, the ‘Pink City’. This room is especially
popular for breakfast as the morning light floods into its mirrored spaces.

The Orient Occident: The Orient Occident is another formal dining space within
the palace and is a particular favourite of HH the Queen Mother, Rajmata Padmini
Devi of Jaipur. The restaurant offers a wide-ranging menu that includes
traditional recipes of the Jaipur region, now rarely encountered elsewhere.

X

EXPLORING THE PINK CITY

Curated exploration of some of Jaipur’s most iconic places to visit in a day.
After breakfast we proceed on a guided tour of the famed Amer Fort. This
magnificent fort comprises an extensive palace complex, built from pale yellow
and pink sandstone, and white marble, and is divided into four main sections,
each with its own courtyard. A tour of the old town behind the Amer Fort has a
lot to discover.

The tour then proceeds to the promenade of the Jal Mahal ‘Water Palace’ and the
Hawa Mahal ‘Palace of Winds’. As our guest, you have the privilege of
accessibility to private areas of the City Palace during your tour. Luncheon can
be arranged at the Baradari, which is the signature restaurant at the Palace.
Alternatively, we can pack you a sumptuous picnic basket that you can eat on the
go. The tour continues with a visit to the Jantar Mantar observatory and to the
bustling lanes of the old market.

Morning, Half Day and Full Day excursions can be arranged.

X

THE TEMPLES OF JAIPUR

The inner city of Jaipur is home to many a shrine, a temple, a place of worship.
At dusk, bells ring, prayers are chanted and oil lamps flicker as the evening
aarti happens in all the sanctums. This special walk through Chandni Chowk and
the temple courtyards, is what connects the individual soul and the city.
Thereafter, enter the gates of the City Palace, with a curated walk through the
Miniature Painting gallery, that ends with a traditional palace dinner in the
private pavilion of the Maharaja of Jaipur.

X

AFTERNOON TEA

Guests are welcome to enjoy their afternoon tea on the terraces and manicured
lawns of Rajmahal Palace, in clement weather. Freshly baked goodies, which
include the royal family’s favourites, are on the menu and also a selection of
delicious teas, coffees and other beverages.

X

AMER FORT, UNESCO

A guided walk through history, led by the curator of this UNESCO World Heritage
Site.

The Amer Fort was built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I and remained the capital of
the Kachwaha dynasty till Jai Singh II planned and built the city of Jaipur.
Here, red sandstone and marble come together influenced by Rajput and Mughal
styles and aesthetics. Palaces, pavilions and courtyards embrace spectacular
views of the erstwhile kingdom, transporting the visitor to another age and
time. A wander through the Amer village afterwards leads you to a Museum of the
famed woodblock printing on fabric that remains the great skill of Jaipur.

SUJAN-PROPERTY-PAGE-DESIGN-RAJMAHAL

DESIGNED BY ADIL AHMAD

It is both a classical and a contemporary designed home within the walls of a
royal palace. From first being conceived as a pleasure garden for a favourite
Queen, this property, once on the outskirts of Jaipur and now at its core,
became the British Residency, and then finally reverted back to being the
private home of His Highness Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II of Jaipur.

For me, Rajmahal Palace epitomizes the power and sensibility of a ruling family
that actively contributed and participated in the layered history of India. It
is an extraordinary ‘home’ set in an extraordinary city that is a living museum
without boundaries, embracing one and all, a celebration of a vibrant diversity.
The painstakingly restored palace, a sparkling gem, embodies that ethos of
Jaipur and its royal family, its glittering past and is now entering its gilded
future.

ANNOUNCEMENT

SUJÁN RAJMAHAL PALACE, JAIPUR

20th of May 2020

After five extremely successful seasons, SUJÁN announces that Rajmahal Palace,
Jaipur will cease to be a part of its collection of experiential hotels in
Rajasthan.

In these five years under SUJÁN’s management, the Palace took its place among
the very best of its genre, globally. Like the rest of our collection in
Rajasthan – SUJÁN Sher Bagh, Ranthambhore, SUJÁN The Serai, Jaisalmer and SUJÁN
JAWAI, Jawai Bandh – SUJÁN Rajmahal Palace too received overwhelming similar
global acclaim in the media, featuring in every respectable travel and luxury
magazine, both in print and online. The Palace-hotel won numerous awards, and
was listed among the best hotels in the world, frequently among the top 10, and
featured in the extremely coveted Condé Nast Traveller Gold List multiple times,
including in 2020. The Palace also commanded some of the highest achieved rates
in India and was a huge success right from its maiden season. It was admitted as
a member of Relais & Chateaux, the world’s most prestigious association of
hotels and restaurants; leaders in the art of refined hospitality, gastronomy
and art de vivre, in its first season – a clear mark of excellence. Widely known
to be one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, it adorns the cover of
‘Glorious Hotels in India’ and was featured in House & Garden’s Hotels by
Design, in Architectural Digest and many more. In keeping with tradition, the
Palace continued to play host to international royalty, heads of state and
countless celebrities – be them actors, authors, designers, statesmen and
captains of industry. The legendary parties too continued – from the annual
Penguin-Random House celebration during the Jaipur Literature Festival to
British Polo Day – and countless others. As we bid farewell to the Palace, we
extend our gratitude to all our guests and patrons who were part of this
wonderful journey and experienced the SUJÁN life in Jaipur with us.

“Built in 1729, The Rajmahal Palace has been a significant part of the history
of the Jaipur Royal Family. We are incredibly grateful to SUJÁN to have been the
custodians of this treasured asset since its extensive renovation five years
ago. While we are sad to see them go, we look forward to continuing the legacy
of The Rajmahal through its next chapter.”

PRINCESS DIYA KUMARI OF JAIPUR

“After an exhilarating tenure, on behalf of everyone at SUJÁN, I would like to
thank the Royal Family of Jaipur for entrusting us with re-opening and managing
one of their most treasured and beautiful Palaces that dates back to 1729. We
wish the family and the Palace all success in the years to come.”
