Broad creative experience I've developed 5 full tabletop games of my own, but I also frequently practice my communication skills, I'm a busker who sings along with my own guitar, writing my own music and noting any creative ideas that come into my mind. I also frequently explore marketing as I wander through the consumerist palaces of british cities, and have assisted many creators with their pitch materials, crowfund campaigns, box and component design and art direction. aa Honesty in healthy doses There are clients who want the world to know their game is great, and there are clients who want to make great games. I work with the latter. As I'm a designer, any success my clients find with my assistance will encourage them to collaborate with me on my own projects, or maybe even publish them (which happens!) I teach what I practice You're probably hiring me because you can't efficiently do what I can do, however you can only truly know the value of my work if you understand what I'm doing. For this reason, I aim to provide explanations for my observations and suggestions as consistently as possible. "I could not be happier with the playtest feedback I received from Aaron at paperweightgames. He took the time to understand not only how my game worked but also my intentions for it. The written report I received was very detailed and covered areas I had not even considered. Highly recommended." - Steve Cassell, creator of Gladiators Crown WATCH THE GOBBLE-INS PITCH VIDEO Past Clients “Aaron's particular strength is analyzing the connection between thematic elements and gameplay mechanics.” - Austin Boyd, Creator of Sodalis. “He truly is a key figure in the community for designers, and this will not be the last time we employ his services. Thank you Aaron for your amazing work.” - Sandtime , Creator of The Gilded Realms "The analysis obviously came from a place far deeper and more experienced in board game design than the opinions (while valuable) that you normally get after a playtest. The points in the analysis were direct, straightforward, actionable, and have already improved the game." - Tony Alicea “...able to provide insight to questions I didn't even know to ask” - Steve Cassell “Aaron emphases the importance of weaving thematic elements and style to rule-writing” - Michael Wooderson “The insight he was able to provide saved me probably dozens of blind playtests” - Mike Nichols “aaron sets the bar high, if you manage to please him, chances are your game already shines.” - Bernhard Schabmayr "Paperweight has a keen eye for identifying sticking points and rough edges in a design, and always works in the best interest of getting a game to its most refined and most engaging state possible. You can't go wrong!" - Tanner Simmons, creator of Gobble-Ins and Tricky Little Death Paw of Duty contains quite a few cards... Aaron's experience with tabletop games was exemplified by his ability to assess the balance of many of these cards accurately and without any additional input from me.” - Derrick "I highly recommend his services to everyone who is serious about improving their game." - Dan Cassar, creator of Aboretum "Occasionally he'll just like, delete a really good review. ” - Paperweightgames It was a good review though, I promise.
