Are you interested in becoming a School Governor?
Luton Governor Support Service provides confidential help and advice to all
school governors, providing them with professional advice on legal requirements
connected with the workings of the governing body. We provide support, help and
advice to all clerks of governing bodies, which will enable them to fulfil their
duties becoming a valued member of the governing body. We are also committed to
providing a programme of development, training and support for our governors,
and clerks to governing bodies enabling them to work efficiently within their
schools. It is our intention to recruit new governors from within the local
community, ensuring that the ethnicity of pupils in school is reflected in their
school governing body, and to help. The Governor Services team are continually
developing strategies to address recruitment and retention of Luton school
governors (including recruitment strategies and mentor schemes). If you would
like more information about what being a school governor involves, please click
on the attached leaflet, or alternatively, you can apply to become a School
Governor using the application form.

How Schools can help Luton families with providing School Uniform
When money is tight at home, a child might not have the uniform and equipment
they need for school. They are unlikely to be able to do fun things in the
school holidays and they are more likely to suffer with mental health problems
and low self esteem. They can be embarrassed about making friends because they
feel ‘different’ and they can experience hopelessness about the future.The cost
of buying school uniform can really add up, so the Level Trust Uniform Exchange
is a great way for families to save money. Reusing school uniform also cuts down
landfill waste while saving precious materials such as cotton and synthetics, so
it’s good for the environment too.Level Trust Uniform Exchange are located
upstairs in The Mall, next to the children’s centre.

In 2023, Luton Borough Council invited Data Privacy Simplified Ltd to provide
some extra capacity for our School GDPR Service.Now that we are no longer be
offering a GDPR service for Schools, we’d like to introduce Data Privacy
Simplified as a possible solution for your Data Protection needs. Attached is a
flyer detailing the services that they can offer.
