NEW PARENT 411: TOP 5 TIPS FOR GETTING A NEWBORN TO SLEEP Baby 411 • Fri, Jan 22 • Baby 411 is America`s most-trusted source for expert advice and tips for your baby`s first year. 1. Suck to soothe. If you are so inclined, your breast may become the human pacifier. If this approach is not for you, use your finger or a pacifier in your baby’s mouth to encourage sucking. This is fine for the first few months of life. 2. Move around. Rocking, swaying, and bouncing (you will have the veteran-parent-bop down quickly) are effective. 3. Sing, in or out of tune. 4. Snug as a bug. Swaddling, sleeping in a bassinet, or even sleeping in a car seat may do the trick. 5. Go for a car ride. Car seats are not designed for babies to sleep in them for extended periods of time. It can be dangerous for babies, please do your research and make sure your information is correct before you spread wrong information to thousands of people. 892 Upvotes An Angela • Dec 31, 2022 Yes i agree. Im finding alot of incorrect information in this app. Thats dangers for first time parents. I reasearch everything but this is disappointing they aren't more careful. 😕 i guess they more concerned with the money instead of the mis- information Ca Cat • Nov 17, 2022 What's up with the Karen's. Re-read the article Ga Ga • Dec 7, 2021 That’s not what the app means by use a car seat it means go for a short drive babies tend to like the motions of a car it puts them to sleep so a short car drive will get them to sleep and you can transfer them back to their crib soon after Je Posted at Thu, Apr 28 2016 Putting baby on your chest works great too. Or wearing your baby. 366 Upvotes Am Amber • Feb 10, 2022 Touch naps are the only way my kiddo sleeps now 😅 I want to wear him more but the PP hot flashes are too much Su Susan • Apr 28, 2021 Wear that baby!!! I just turn the air up in the house then cuz we get hot Me Posted at Sun, Oct 09 2016 We stick to these night time rituals and can get a six hour night sleep out of our one month old (she's been sleeping this well the last two weeks since we started this):She only sleeps in her crib at night. Naps during the day are in the light and in bouncer chairs or on us. Completely dark room no night light.Big feeding right before bed around 10:30p (4 ounces breastmilk) and with a clean diaper done prior to the feeding. She usually wakes up with a poo and a pee six hours later. We put on the "shusher" ($15) noise machine only at night after feed for 15-30 minutes on a timer to automatically shut off We use the "miracle blanket" ($30) only at night so she has a tight swaddle that she won't break to wake herself up.Since we discovered this ritual it's worked like a charm! 😀 mother of twins taught it to us. 235 Upvotes Ni Nicole • Jun 14 What is the miracle blanket?
