"Micro Four Thirds" ONLY describes the lens mount. We do have Super16 cameras
with an MFT nount. FourThirds would be the sensor size (equivalent to the active
area of a 4/3" picture tube) and it usually comes with a FourThirds (mirror) or
a MicroFourThirds (Mirrorless) lens mount.

Although many filmmakers will love this camera, for me the size is too big. I
went the MFT road because of the camera and lens size, not the sensor size. Most
cameras that came after 2012 are good enough for serious filmmaking. I mean
filmmaking where you use lights, focus puller and record proper sound
separately. It is the size of the camera and lens which gives you the greatest
flexibility. I hope both Panasonic and OM Systems will continue to manufacture
small factor cameras and improve the sensors. A global shutter is something that
may compel me to make a new purchase.

[0:24] The MICRO in µ4/3 refers to the flange distance between the sensor and
the optical lens element in relation to a traditional DSLR Four Thirds camera.
Since every camera manufacturer now has mirrorless options, technically they are
all MICRO… µ Full-Frame | µAPS-C | µMedium Format…

Thanks for the great review, Chris! The GH7 does look like a decent camera with
its internal RAW, and image stabilization looks impressive, but I think
low-light performance and auto-focus seem to not be on par with Sony's
offerings. Curious if you've done that same rapid walk test at 4:47 with the FX3
and FX30? The GH7 seemed to not actually pull focus to the subject until you
were almost right in the lens (by 4:50 the subject is still out of focus). I'm
hoping Sony or Canon might fare better in this department. Thanks so much for
your time!

I have no clue how you hit the audio control button accidentally . I never had
this problem. The arri log HAS advantages. Base iso is 350 insted of 500 with
vlog if i remember right. The menu is no minus at all. Its great in my eyes and
if you are overwhelmed by the options you can use my menu and only put in what
you need. It looks like you did not really put in the time to get familiar with
gh7. You are just another spec sheet reader it seems. I am sure you never did
anything with this camera so your „review“ is useless for people who USE
cameras.

Anyone have a recommendation for a talking head camera with decent quality,
which does NOT require smartphone activation? Was tempted by the Insta360 and
DJI Pocket 3, then discovered an app is compulsory for first-time use. Yes, I
have a smartphone, but literally have no available space on it to install a new
app (and that's with only the bare essentials on it; no games, less than ten
pictures, etcetera). It feels weird that you can't just connect them to a PC for
an initial firmware update.
