CM Mohsin Naqvi Inaugurates Cavalry Underpass

"Mohsin Speed" rapid as ever. Cavalry Underpass has been completed in 2.5 months
instead of 6 months. 15 percent saving accrued in the total expenditure. Chief
Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated Cavalry underpass. CM Mohsin Naqvi
while addressing the inaugural ceremony congratulated the people of Lahore on
the completion of Cavalry underpass. CM while addressing the ceremony stated
that he felicitates the people of Lahore especially the residents of Gulberg and
Defence on the completion of Cavalry underpass. People should confine themselves
within their houses for the reduction of smog.They should not come out of their
houses unnecessarily. If we take care of our environment then positive changes
will come into effect. The level of smog has reduced due to lessening of traffic
during previous three days. We had to close the main road due to construction
work and that's why Cavalry underpass was a difficult project. Mohsin Naqvi
apprised that with the opening of Ghora Chowk flyover on 7th December,�  the
route will become signal- free from the Centre Point up to Defence Mor. 2 lac
vehicles can pass daily due to the opening of Cavalry underpass. People used to
stop on 3-3 signals before. The finishing of Cavalry underpass has been done in
a magnificent manner. We are focusing more on the three important projects
namely Lahore, Rawalpindi Ring Roads and the Bund Road project. CM informed that
we are striving to the utmost for an early completion of the Lahore, Rawalpindi
Ring Roads and Bund Road project. DG LDA, his team and the contractor completed
the Cavalry underpass by working day and night. CM commended DG LDA and his
entire team on the early completion of Cavalry underpass. Provincial Ministers
Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Ibrahim Hassan Murad, Mansoor Qadir, Chief Secretary,
Secretary Information, Secretary Housing, Commissioner Lahore, Deputy
Commissioner Lahore and other officials were also present on the occasion.

CM Inspects Development Projects in Lahore

Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inspected the progress on Walton Road and ADA
drain remodelling & Upgradation, Cavalry underpass and Centrepoint to Walton
Road CBD Punjab Quaid District projects and expressed his satisfaction with the
drainage of sewage water on Walton Road.

While directing measures for the smooth flow of traffic during the development
work, he directed that the projects should be completed without delay. Taking
notice of shop closures, he ordered the administration and police to let the
shops open. Shops were immediately opened in the presence of CM. He inspected
the construction work of the Cavalry underpass and ordered to complete the
asphalt work on side roads soon. He further directed the contractor to speed up
the work to complete it within four days. He also inspected the Lahore Central
Business District Development Authority and directed to planting of more trees
around the project. CM gave a deadline for the completion of the asphalt work
from the Centerpoint to Walton in the first 10 days of December adding that the
project should be completed by the end of December in any case. He reviewed the
construction work of the road connecting CBD Punjab Boulevard and Walton Road
and directed to complete the Walton overhead bridge on a fast-track
basis.� While talking to the media after visiting the development projects, the
CM said that the up-gradation and remodelling of Walton Road is a mega project.
Work was being started at 6 locations on Walton Road, which will cost more than
9 billion rupees. A flyover will also be built at Cheil Chowk, which will
facilitate the smooth flow of traffic, he said. The road project from
Centerpoint to Walton Road has been given a deadline of December 31 to complete.
With the completion of this project, the journey from Main Boulevard Gulberg to
Walton will be reduced to only 3 minutes, he added. The cavalry underpass will
be completed in the next 4 days while the Ghora Chowk flyover is expected to be
completed on 7th Dec, he stated. Meanwhile, work on the Lahore Ring Road
(southern loop-3) and Band Road (controlled access) projects was going on day
and night, with a deadline of January. Similarly, the Gujranwala Expressway will
also be completed in January. Work on Gujranwala University has been started as
well while the capacity of Gujranwala Children Hospital, started with a capacity
of 100 beds, will be increased to 200 beds in January. The Burn Unit in
Gujranwala Medical College Hospital will be completed in January. The vegetable
market, Guwala Colony and Graveyard problem have been resolved in Gujranwala.
Six thousand students are studying in DPS Gujranwala, and arrangements were
being made for the education of one thousand more children, he added and
concluded that the government's job was to arrest the accused and present their
challans while the verdicts rest with the courts.

Provincial Information Minister Amir Mir, commissioner Lahore, CCPO, DC and
others were also present.

CM Mohsin Naqvi Inaugurates 5th Model Police Khidmat Markaz at Wapda Town

Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated 5th Model Police Khidmat Markaz
at Wapda Town today. CM Mohsin Naqvi visited the Police Khidmat Markaz and
inspected various counters. Mohsin Naqvi reviewed facilities being provided to
the applicants at the Police Khidmat Markaz. CM got his Pakistani and
international driving licence renewed from the Police Khidmat Markaz.CM paid fee
of his both licences, put his fingerprints and had his picture. CM directed to
keep open the Wapda Town Khidmat Markaz for 24 hours.Mohsin Naqvi conversed with
the staff present at the counter and directed them to immediately dispose off
applications of the citizens. CM appreciated the uniform of the staff of Police
Khidmat Markaz. Inspector General of Police Doctor Usman Anwar while giving a
briefing about the Police Khidmat Markaz informed that a tenant registration,
crime report and FIR copy can be obtained from the Police Khidmat Markaz within
24 hours.Character certificate and staff verification report can be obtained
from the Police Khidmat Markaz in 5 days.CM Mohsin Naqvi while talking with the
media after inaugurating the Police Khidmat Markaz at Wapda Town said that he
has inaugurated 5th Model Police Khidmat Markaz in Lahore. Their are total 15
Police Khidmat Markaz in Lahore and Kahna Khidmat Markaz will also be
inaugurated in coming three days. I visited Police Khidmat Markaz last night and
their long queues of those getting their driving licenses 5 Police Khidmat
Markaz are working 24 hours in Lahore. Citizens should get their driving licence
soon because licence fee will be increased otherwise they will have to pay fine.
16 thousand licences were made in a single day in Lahore. The date of my licence
was expiring and I have also got my licence renewed today.Citizens, officials,
journalists and people from every segment should get their driving licences
compulsorily. The parents should not allow their child under18 years of age to
ride a vehicle or a bike as the crackdown is ongoing.It is a matter of grave
concern of having 250 accidents in a single day in Lahore � Everyone should
abide by traffic rules and awareness about traffic rules should be spread as far
as possible.Upgradation work of 737 police stations is ongoing. A positive
change will be � visibly seen in all the police stations of Punjab. We are
striving to change the Thana Culture.Things will only improve by changing the
thinking not by improving the building of the police station.The data of police
Helpline 15 has lessened. FIR is immediately registered across Punjab especially
in Lahore. Our team continuously monitors pending FIRs. We are deputing young
police officers and training is also imparted to them so that thana culture can
change. We have adopted a zero tolerance policy against corruption If any
complaints is received then prompt action is taken.We will bring back many
persons through interpol.If petrol prices decrease then we will get the prices
of edibles and fares decrease. Crackdown against hoarders is ongoing, cases are
also being registere and arrests are being made. The price of sugar increased
which has decreased after undertaking an effective action.We are making all out
efforts to reduce smog. When clouds come in Lahore then we will make an
experiment of rainfall.We are also giving electric bikes to the police. ACS
Home, CCPO Lahore, Commissioner Lahore, DG Operations, CTO and concerned
officials were also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Drives Progress On Gujranwala-Lahore-Sialkot
Motorway Link Road

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by the Punjab Cabinet, conducted a
comprehensive inspection of the Flagship Project Expressway Motorway Link Road
in Gujranwala today. During the visit, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi personally
assessed the ongoing construction activities at various sites, including the
asphalt laying process.

Observing the progress on the under-construction two-way road connecting
Gujranwala with Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi
congratulated the diligent workers for their efforts. A detailed briefing
indicated that 65 percent of the project and nearly 100 percent of the earthwork
for the 15.2 km long link road have been completed.

Expressing satisfaction with the initiation of road asphalt work, Chief Minister
Mohsin Naqvi commended the performance of the FWO (Frontier Works Organization)
and the Commissioner Gujranwala's team. Mohsin Naqvi issued directives to
accelerate the project's pace while ensuring adherence to high construction
standards. He specifically instructed the construction of a protective wall on
both sides of the carriageway instead of fencing.

Emphasizing the adherence to the stipulated timeline, Chief Minister Mohsin
Naqvi envisioned substantial fuel savings upon the project's completion,
reducing the travel time from Gujranwala to Lahore to a mere 45 minutes. The
15.2 km long two-way carpeted road is expected to enhance access to the
motorway.

The briefing highlighted additional project features, including the construction
of 6 bridges, 22 boxes, 23 pipe culverts, 5 animal crossings, and 5 subways from
Benazir Chowk to Wahandu Interchange. Colonel Jamal of FWO provided a detailed
progress report, with Commissioner Gujranwala and the Secretary Communication
and Works addressing project-related concerns. The occasion was attended by
Provincial Ministers, Advisors , Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala, and officers
from the Frontier Works Organization.

Mask Wearing Made Mandatory in 10 Smog Affected Districts

In view of the deteriorating Air Quality, the Punjab Government has made wearing
of mask mandatory in 10 smog affected districts of Lahore and Gujranwala
divisions for one week from today (Monday 20th November to Sunday 26th November,
2023).

On directions by the Chief Minister, Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, the Primary and
Secondary Healthcare� Department has issued a formal notification in this
regard. Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr. Jamal Nasir has
said that due to environmental pollution, the Punjab government has made it
mandatory for all people in the smog-affected districts to wear masks for one
week. He informed that the mask wearing will be compulsory in the districts of
Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib. Apart from this, it is also
mandatory to wear masks in districts Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot Narowal,
Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin.

Dr. Jamal Nasir said that protecting the health of the citizens is the top
priority of the Punjab government and it is utilizing all possible resources to
combat pollution and overcome smog. He advised that all the citizens must wear
masks to avoid allergies and diseases due to smog.
