Sandra
Lovely romance by Lynne Graham I liked the heroine Ava she was sweet and caring
I also liked the hero Vito Ava spent some time in prison view spoilerfor a crime
she didn't commit which involved the death of hero's brother Olly hide spoiler

StMargarets

This was a change of pace from Lynne Graham Heroine is out of jail for drunk
driving which killed the hero's brother who was her close friend from boarding
school She suffered from amnesia about the crash and wasn't able to defend
herself She's 21 now and trying to get her life back on track She is in love
with a poodleGerman shepherd mix who is going to be put down if the animal
shelter can't find him a forever home She spends all of her spare time with the
dog She has a three month job at one of the hero's businesses and of course she
runs into him on her first dayHero is still angry with her but is just as
attracted to her as he was the night of the crash when she was just 18 They
cross swords at the office a few times and the hero creates jobs for her until
he decides that both he and the heroine need to get over his brother's death To
do this he will hold his annual Christmas party at his house and the heroine
will plan it just as she and his brother had done in the pastHeroine thinks this
is a bad idea because it will put her in the vicinity of her family who has
disowned her and will cause people to talk Her alcoholic mother died while she
was in prison and she is also estranged from her sisters and father Hero doesn't
care about the gossip and thinks she should reconcile with her family view
spoiler They embark on a sexual affair Heroine was a virgin Hero tries to get
her to talk about her life in prison and her family but she is used to keeping
her own counsel Heroine eventually goes to see her father who informs her that
she isn't his child Heroine now understands why she wasn't loved but she is sad
during the shopping trip hero had planned as a treat Hero is patient picks out
her clothes and doesn't press her even when she clams up She does tell him later
Her sisters eventually visit her after they see her name linked with the hero's
in the tabloids Hero invites them to his party so heroine can get to know them
better Heroine thinks their affair will only lasts to the Christmas party but
hero has other ideas Then a party guest from the night of the crash recognizes
the her...show more
Danielle The Book Huntress (Back to the Books)

It is an incredible coincidence that I read two Lynne Graham books within days
of each other and each has a hero named Vito and a heroine who is a redhead and
who has a strangely similar family history with a few differences Honest to
goodness I didn't do that deliberately It was just one of those serendipity
thingsI know some readers might be annoyed by the fact that the plot is slightly
recycled I wasn't I think that in a long writing career that's bound to happen
to a prolific writer I know that in my own writing I work out issues I see in
life and that affect me on a deep level So I'm not dismayed to see this in
writers I follow Ava doesn't have an abrasive personality and she probably would
be entitled to it considering her past She carries a burden of guilt that has
stripped that away from her if she ever had it It's heartbreaking what she
suffered and when it's revealed what truly happened it makes it even worse I
think that Vito could have been a sympathetic hero I didn't love him although
neither did I hate him He was kind of 'meh' for me He was a bit too cold and
unemotional detached to me I felt that he loved Ava by the end of the book but I
didn't feel like he deeply needed her the way I like to feel from a hero I think
his attitude about sexuality was a turnoff He was too much of a womanizer for my
tastes I think that his actions were initially motivated by a desire to get Ava
in bed even if he didn't want to acknowledge it on a deeper level I'm not saying
he didn't grow in his feelings for her but I don't like when the heroes'
feelings start merely as sexual and his felt a bit lecherous to me Also Vito
didn't seem to want to believe the best of Ava All along he was willing to think
she was everything that the past seemed to dictate but he didn't consider how
much his brother Olly loved and respected Ava and take that seriously enough Let
me put it this way if my sister has a high opinion of someone I take it very
seriously I guess that's why I was not 100% satisfied with this book When it is
revealed how badly Ava was wronged I wanted to feel remorse and regret for what
she went through fro...show more

This had the bare bones of an interesting story the heroine is just out of jail
after killing the hero's brother while driving drunk but pretty much nothing on
those bones It was short sparse and shallow The only character that had any life
ironically was the dead brother

Enjoyable read this latest offering from one of my most favorite of the Harleuin
authorsAva and Vito have a past and not a good one at thatThree years ago she
was sent to prison for causing the death of Vito's beloved half brother Oliver
akaolly Ava and Olly were best friendsAs part of her work release she is sent to
work for a company that Vito owns unknown to herThey meet again when she serves
him coffee during a staff meetingThe book for me progressed uickly from thereAva
has always had feelings for Vitoshe even has a tattoo with his name on her left
hip from when she was eighteenVito's feelings were hiddenI loved this
bookLynne's heros are softer now than her previous booksnot a total jerk as some
have been with their sense of entitledment and God'd Gift to womenAva's
character was strong and fiesty in her dealings with Mr I don't do love
marriagekids or dog routineThere were certain parts of the book that you knew
who did what that you could see a mile away45 read and glad to see that this
author is back to form

I am torn as how to rate it I just re read it and I am conflicted No they
weren't a couple before she went to prison but he had kissed her I really didn't
like the book until halfway through And then it was just okay The ending was
good and so was the epilogue and I liked that part but something about it still
niggles at me This is one of my favoritest tropes misjudged heroine treated
badly and she perseveres and the H falls in love with her but I just don't know
why this one didn't wow me I may have to read it over I did up it to three stars

The heroine was recently released from jail as she was found guilty in a
vehicular death of her best friend who was the hero Vito's brother Since she was
injured and left with amnesia which took her memory of the accident she really
had a very weak defense With no memory she couldn't tell her side of the story
so uickly she was found guilty Thought it was a bit unfairThe heroine Ava was
constantly grieved over the loss of her best friend Olly whom she met at
boarding school It was difficult for her to reconcile that she was the cause of
his death since she had no memory She would sometimes travel home with him for
holiday visits and she was just WOW over his older brother Vito who was ten
years their senior Vito was oftentimes cruel to her He had the hots for her but
certainly didn't want to He'd maybe steal a kiss then treat her like she was a
leper or whore blaming her when he kissed her She was a sexy young woman and he
always assumed she was trying to tempt him with her great body She was notyes
she tempted him but she was not really a seductress She was too young and
innocent to know how but that didn't stop him from treating her poorly breaking
her young heart She fell for him when she was only sixteen but the man wouldn't
have anything to do with her Sadly he didn't take the time to get to know her
and was way too far into his man whore lifestyle He had no clue whatsoever that
she was virginal She knew for sure that she would never have a chance with Vito
since she was the one who caused his brother's death She was going into a work
program who hired ex cons for three months to help prep them for entering the
workforce She had no clue she was going to work for him and his new
companyWithin a week or two she was living with himso she could prepare the
company and neighborhood Christmas partybut he also joined her in bed most
nights The man made sure every female within shouting distance knew he never
wanted to marry or have a family He told her many times and she acted as though
she didn't want it either But fell hard he didThis was ju...show more

35 stars Reading the blurb made me feel excited about reading this one and I
needed that excitement to actually make me want to read this latest offering
from Lynne GrahamI love revenge stories I think this might be one of my
favourite tropes second only to secret babies and this on has the added surprise
of a heroine whom has been in prison Whilst reading I actually found that it
isn't actually very revengey but still an enjoyable bookWhere the last few Lynne
Graham books have suffered from heroes that take the Alpha Male idea a step too
far this book has a much gentler accepting hero whom is still as Alpha as you
need and this certainly benefits the storyThere is a lot of shared emotion
between the hero and heroine and lots of well thought out conflict The heroine
is particularly well written; she had a lot to deal with but never caved under
everything and didn't come across as a martyrI think a little could have been
made of with regards to the heroine's prison time but the story didn't lack
because of it I'll be honest and say that I could have done without the
'discovery resolution' it felt a little contrived in my opinionOverall not a bad
book at all In fact a uite enjoyable oneOriginally posted at

Interesting premise I liked this one on the whole The hero could not stay away
from the heroine even though as far as anyone knew she had killed his brother in
a drunk driving accident He was pretty hot for her and the love scenes were well
done The change from anger to his realization that he loved her was a nice
logical progression He was never really nasty to her She was a nice strong
character and I liked her

Unlocking Her Innocence is the story of Ava and VitoThree years ago Ava was
imprisoned when a drunk driving incident followed by amnesia left her best
friend Olly dead and soon the world around her collapsed Her family abandoned
her and the man she had loved forever Vito Barbieri and Olly's older brother
resented her She then sufferedNow released from jail she finds work in one of
the prisoner rehabilitation centers only to soon meet Vito again as her new boss
Never expecting any sort of exoneration for her crimes she does not expect to
keep her job But despite his feelings Vito not only gives her a second chance
but also makes her forgive herselfThe book follows their journeyThis was a great
read Firstly I would have loved to know Olly Such a fabulous human being
precious and loving to everyone around him especially our h and H all his
references made me tear up The heroine was bent but not broken she goes through
a lot heartbreak at 18 from being punished to being an outcast; and takes on not
just the blame but also works on making amends I loved her tattoo her love for
Harvey the dog her passionate spirit and her strengthThe hero wasn't bad too yes
he blamed the heroine occasionally but also believed that she had paid her due
and hence stood like a wall for her whenever possible He is enad by her and
pursues her relentlessly He also helps her find the truth in the endAngst great
Sex great Epilogue greatReally enjoyed thisSWE455
