Ogle County Board: Non-sanctuary county for immigration resolution passed
At its monthly meeting Wednesday, the Ogle County Board unanimously approved a
resolution declaring Ogle County a non-sanctuary county for immigration. 

Unofficial Ogle County election results: Cox wins coroner race, schools sales
tax referendum fails
Results from Tuesday’s general primary election in Ogle County showed that
Christie Cox of Polo (3,812 votes, 50.68 percent) defeated Chad Horner of
Rochelle (3,709 votes, 49.32 percent) in the race for the Ogle County coroner’s
office. As of Thursday afternoon, 100 percent of Ogle County precincts had
reported, but results will be unofficial for two weeks following the race, which
is election protocol.

City of Polo, Buffalo Township break ground on new City Hall project at 118 N.
Franklin Ave.
On March 6, the City of Polo and Buffalo Township hosted a groundbreaking
ceremony for their new joint building at 118 N. Franklin Ave. that will replace
Polo’s City Hall, Polo Mayor Doug Knapp said.

County, VA, passed away suddenly at KSB Hospital in Dixon, IL, on Wednesday,
March 20, 2024.

Phyllis Jean LaBudde, 89, of Forreston, died Sunday, March 24 in her home.

LETTER: THANKS TO OGLE COUNTY BOARD

Thank you to the Ogle County Board for declaring Ogle County a non-sanctuary
county for immigration.



REVIEWING MARCH MADNESS

While we wait for the weather to warm up for spring sports, let’s review the
NCAA basketball tournament, or “March Madness”, as they call it, although the
IHSA claims to be original coiner of the term March Madness.



LETTER: SADNESS AND DISMAY

I read with sadness and dismay in the March 25 edition that the Ogle County
Board has decided to make Ogle County a non-sanctuary county for immigration. I
suppose because of how politicized the whole immigration issue has become in our
country.
