LEADER BANK PAVILION

Boston Pavilion is a local, independent website for the people of Boston and not
affiliated or sponsored by the corporations Live Nation, Ticketmaster or Leader

The Leader Bank Pavilion is one of Boston’s most popular outdoor amphitheaters
and has hosted some of the city’s most memorable concerts. Situated on Boston
Harbor and adjacent to Rowes Wharf, Leader Bank Pavilion is the city’s premiere
outdoor summer concert. With a seating capacity of 5,000, the venue is also one
of the largest in the area. Used as a summer concert venue, Leader Bank Pavilion
is only open from May through September. The venue’s top of the line sound
system, spectacular lighting capabilities and cool harbor breezes make for a
truly unforgettable experience.


LEADER BANK PAVILION HISTORY

Throughout its history, the venue has gone through a number of name changes. It
was originally known as Harbor Lights Pavilion, or simply Harbor Lights. The
venue would eventually become associated with Bank of Boston and renamed Bank of
Boston Pavilion. In 1996, the bank merged with BayBank and the name changed to
BankBoston Pavilion. Live Nation purchased the venue in 1999 and sold the naming
rights to FleetBoston. The venue was then renamed FleetBoston Pavilion. The
venue’s name would change to Fleet Pavilion after the bank acquired Summit
Bancorp and sold off several of its New England branches.

In 2004, FleetBoston merged with Bank of America, and the venue went through yet
another name change and was renamed Bank of America Pavilion.

On January 1, 2014, Blue Hills Bank won the naming rights for this waterfront
amphitheater, and the venue was once again renamed to Blue Hills Bank Pavilion.
Concert goers can breathe a sigh of relief as the venue will hold onto this name
for just under 10 years.

Rockland Trust Bank bought the Blue Hills Bank in 2018, and with it the naming
rights for the Boston Pavilion. In February 2018 the name of the pavilion was
changed to the Rockland Trust Bank Pavilion. In 2021 Leader Bank then won the
naming rights for the venue, causing another name change to Leader Bank
Pavilion.

The Leader Bank Pavilion has gone through several names in it’s history,
including:

 * FleetBoston Pavilion
 * Bank of America Pavilion
 * Blue Hills Bank Pavilion
 * Rockland Trust Bank Pavilion
 * Leader Bank Pavilion


LEADER BANK PAVILION QUICK FACTS

Leader Bank Pavilion is a circular amphitheater that encompasses an entire acre
of land. Although the venue is capable of hosting several different types of
events, only concerts and other live music events are hosted at the Pavilion.
The venue also features a 500 person VIP tent. The Pavilion is located just 4.1
miles from Logan Airport. There are more than 35 concession areas on site.
Concertgoers can purchase wine, beer and champagne at the Pavilion. Top name
performers have played at the Pavilion, including Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison,
Norah Jones and The Allman Brothers Band.
