Sydney Olympic Park holds a place close to people’s hearts. It’s where Cathy
Freeman claimed gold in the 400 metres and International Olympics Committee
president Juan Antonio Samaranch declared the event “the best Olympic Games
ever.”

Today, the suburb is much more than a place of memories – it’s home to major
sporting and entertainment events, abundant green spaces and a thriving
residential community.

Olympic Park’s extensive sporting and lifestyle facilities, in particular, are
ideal for active families and professionals looking to move into the area. These
include centres for aquatics, archery, athletics, hockey and tennis. There’s
also the six-court Netball Central, Monster Skatepark, and Monster BMX and
Mountain X for off-road cycling enthusiasts.

Olympic Park is also where you’ll find Allphones Arena, the largest indoor live
entertainment and sporting arena in Australia, and Accor Stadium, which hosts
everything from rugby to major musical acts.

Bicentennial Park gives locals a place of green escape with more than 16
hectares of landscaped parklands to explore. The grounds include everything
needed for a picnic in the sun, including barbecues and playgrounds.

Walking trails and bike paths wind around water fountains and shady trees.
There’s also a boardwalk through the mangroves, a bird refuge complete with bird
hides, and Treillage Tower – the perfect position for views of the wetlands,
Homebush Bay and the city skyline.

But it’s not just the stunning parklands and sporting facilities that make
Olympic Park an attractive place for home buyers.

Rich Harvey, buyer’s advocate and chief executive of Propertybuyer, says there’s
also the convenience of location.

“Lifestyle is the keyword for people looking to locate there,” he says. “It’s
strategically positioned at the upper reaches of the harbour. You can get on the
train at Rhodes, Olympic Park, Homebush, so you’ve three stations nearby.

“And it’s not a congested area, even though you may be living in an apartment.
You’ve got the central hub of Rhodes, the Rhodes shopping centre precinct with
cinemas, shops and cafes, and further afield, you’ve got the green spaces as
well.”

Australia YMCI (AYMCI) director Jason Tan says the sporting and lifestyle
features “are the best available and are second to none – if you go through the
huge number of sporting facilities and entertainment options that are available,
it will blow your mind”.

AYMCI’s Sapphire Apartments is one of the latest developments to join the
Olympic Park fold. The third and final building within AYMCI’s Ovation Quarter,
Sapphire is a 10-storey building offering two and three-bedroom apartments.

Construction has been completed on the apartments, allowing buyers to move
straight in and enjoy the Olympic Park precinct.

“The Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic games created Sydney Olympic Park,” Tan
says. “Now the legacy of the park exists for everyone to enjoy its
state-of-the-art sporting and event venues that play an important role in the
lifestyle of Sydney. More importantly, the impact is directly significant to
residents who live in Ovation Quarter, particularly Sapphire Apartments.”

In addition to Sapphire Apartments, Ovation Quarter has two other apartment
buildings – Emerald, which has sold out, and Ruby, which has 11 apartments still
available and is imminently approaching a full sellout.

All three buildings are just a 20-minute commute away from the Sydney CBD, 15
minutes from the Parramatta CBD and only five minutes from Lidcombe Shopping
Centre.

“Infrastructure is being built around you and you have world-class sporting and
entertainment facilities at your disposal,” Tan says.
