OUR BEST SELECTION OF COSTA RICA BEACHES

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beach in Costa Rica: With the Caribbean Sea on the one hand and the Pacific
Ocean on the other, Costa Rica offers a string of desert and heavenly beaches.
With volcanic black, white or even golden sand, the beaches turn out to be a
real paradise on earth, a symbol of the “Pura Vida” dear to Costa Ricans. Here
is a non-exhaustive list of some beautiful beaches in Costa Rica to complete
your stay.

BEACH IN COSTA RICA: CARIBBEAN SIDE

PUNTA UVA BEACH IN LIMON

At the extreme south of the Caribbean coast, in the region of Puerto Limón,
Punta Uva is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. It will seduce you
with its heavenly setting, its wild expanses and its secret coves. Tranquil
Punta Uva Beach is best known for its calm waters, fringed by thick jungle and
golden sand. Not far away is the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Reserve: Perfect
for carefully observing monkeys, sloths and many types of birds.

PLAYA COCLES IN LIMÓN

North of Uva, Coclès beach is also worth a visit. Bordered by lush vegetation
and surrounded by rocks dominating the beach, Coclès is especially famous for
its large waves, ideal for surfing. Its fine sand and blue waters make Playa
Cocles one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Be sure to stay there
until evening, just to admire its incredible sunset.

PLAYA BLANCA IN LIMON

As you will have understood, the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica are
located in the Puerto Limón region. Near the town of Cahuita, Playa Blanca lives
up to its name. A large stretch of white sand caressed by the turquoise waters
of the Caribbean, Playa Blanca lies at the bottom of Cahuita National Park. It
is also accessed through the national park via Kelly Creek, the main entrance.
Its remote location makes this beach one of the least crowded in the country.

BEACH IN COSTA RICA: PACIFIC SIDE

PLAYA CONCHAL IN GUANACASTE

Playa Conchal is a must-visit beach on your Costa Rican vacation.. In the
province of Guanacaste, the beach opens onto the Pacific and is made up of white
sand, dotted with small crushed shells. For the record, "concha" means "shell"
in Spanish. Note that Conchal Beach lends itself easily to snorkeling, thanks in
particular to its clear and clean waters.

Or sleep ? Go a little further south to find a dream hotel: The Santarena. In
the city of Las Catalinas, in the province of Guanacaste, the Hotel Santarena
takes up residence by the sea and offers the ideal escape for travelers in
search of tranquility in the tropics. The Santarena hotel consists of 45
spacious and bright rooms, spread over 4 floors, with a modern and refined
design, as if designed to encourage rest and relaxation. For absolute
relaxation, the hotel's swimming pool, the real jewel of the establishment, will
delight you. Lined with comfortable deckchairs, the infinity pool, which seems
to throw itself into the sea, is perfect for doing lengths while enjoying a

PLAYA HERMOSA IN GUANACASTE

In Costa Rica, there are not only white or golden sand beaches. The black and
gray sand beaches are the pride of this Central American country. This is the
case of Playa Hermosa, located a few kilometers south of Jaco, a gray-black
volcanic sand beach lined with palm trees. But what really makes Hermosa beach
special are its breakers, a real “Beach Break” in surfer jargon. Fans from all
over the world come to caress the azure water of Playa Hermosa. Every Saturday
afternoon there is a surf competition open to the best surfers in the area. If
you are not a surfer, you can nevertheless admire this performance with the
sunset in the background. Simply magical.

PLAYA SAMARA IN GUANACASTE

Playa Samara is without doubt one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica.
It best represents the “Pura Vida” spirit, dear to Costa Ricans. It is indeed a
quiet spot, a little bohemian, with a relaxed and festive atmosphere. It is
characterized by a wide and beautiful expanse of white sand as well as a dense
green jungle bordering the beach.

Or sleep ? At the Mangrove, an eco-friendly hotel with an elegant design located
in the Gulf of Papagayo in the heart of the province of Guanacaste. This
eco-friendly hotel in Costa Rica has no less than 85 rooms, all superbly
appointed. They all have windows or a balcony framing the tropical flora of
Costa Rica. Our favorite room? El Mangle, for its direct beach access, private
plunge pool, views of the Pacific, and the services of an in-house chef who will
prepare local dishes for you. Want a moment of relaxation? Head to the spa of
this eco-friendly hotel in Costa Rica and book a “Bliss” treatment to then
finish in the hammam, sauna and jacuzzi. The outdoor massage cabins allow you to
get a massage in the middle of the mangroves. Also, the Mangroove also has an
aquatic activity center so that you can discover rays, dolphins and turtles (and
humpback whales if you have planned your visit well) thanks to approved
instructors.

CORCOVADO BEACH IN PUNTANERAS

Corcovado Park in the Puntaneras region is a must for discovering Costa Rica.
The park hides a beautiful beach, almost hidden, a real jewel of the Osa
Peninsula. Corcovado Beach stretches for miles of gray sand, lined with palm
trees that seem to caress the ground. This desert and paradisiac beach is
perfect to have the chance to observe a large number of species of mythical
birds of Costa Rica.

in Costa Rica. Famous in particular for its semi-circular “whale tail” shape,
Uvita beach in the province of Puntaneras is a true natural paradise. The sea is
calm and the waters limpid: Ideal for a snorkeling session in order to meet an
impressive marine fauna and flora.

Or sleep ? At the Kura Design Villas hotel, located on the beachfront of Uvita.
he Kura Design Villas has six exclusive bungalows, each with their own private
pool. What do we like the most? Its infinity pool which seems to flow into the
surrounding jungle.

BEACH IN COSTA RICA: MANUEL ANTONIO, PUNTANERAS

We end this selection of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica with Manuel
Antonio, the most famous in the Puntaneras region. Its national park of the same
name offers a fine selection of small beaches. Indeed, renowned for its wide
strip of sand in the shape of a horseshoe, Manuel Antonio Park is bordered by
crystal clear waters, ideal for swimming. Want more tranquility? Cross the
jungle to find superb secluded and wild coves.

BEACH IN COSTA RICA: WHEN TO GO TO ENJOY THE GOOD WEATHER?

To take full advantage of the good weather and mild temperatures in Costa Rica,
we advise you to go there in January, after the influx of tourists. The rains
end in December, but the forests remain lush until the start of the year as dry,
sunny weather reigns on the beaches. Note that temperatures often soar, up to
around 33 degrees Celsius during Costa Rica's dry months.
