When the rapidly scaling company acquired another organization and doubled its head count, the larger group needed a single, all-in-one T&E solution to support its expansive, overnight growth. Poor User Experience and a Lack of Options Prior to the acquisition, ConnectWise relied on a legacy travel management company (TMC) for team travel bookings. For expense management, it relied on a separate, internal system. The resulting two-part solution was clunky and not user-friendly. Another challenge: Multi-city and multi-airline booking options weren’t available through its previous solution, and flights from some of the most popular airlines like Southwest required extra fees or processes to enter the booking flow. On top of the cumbersome user experience, ConnectWise lacked a dedicated customer service representative from the legacy TMC, said Mindy Owen, Travel and Expense Manager at ConnectWise. “We didn’t have anyone reaching out to us to hear what wasn’t working,” Owen said. Ensuring duty of care was tricky, too, as the system didn’t include at-a-glance traveler safety features. “Our previous solution was so legacy. It was really painful for me,” Owen said.
