The challenge Solution Products Impact Team At ThermoReLeaf we address the problem of crop yield losses due to heat exposure, a global threat to food security that has worsened in recent years due to climate change. The Challenge It is estimated that each degree-Celsius increase in global mean temperature reduces global yields of wheat by 6.0%, rice by 3.2%, maize by 7.4%, and soybean by 3.1%. This represents a total global average loss of $42.4 billion per year. Our Solution WE OFFER A PLATFORM THAT COMBINES SMALL MOLECULE DISCOVERY AND GENE EDITING TO PROTECT CROPS FROM HEAT STRESS. These technologies are specifically designed to prevent the cell death events that take place in response to heat, avoiding the damage that occurs in plants exposed to high temperatures. Our Products Seeds of edited plants Heat resilient plants obtained through DNA edition can cope with heat stress all along their life cycle. AgBiological formulation Specific formulation that allows plants to cope with extreme temperatures, either by seed application or by foliar spray. Current technologies are not specifically developed to cope with severe heat We are able to precisely disrupt the cell death mechanism triggered in response to heat without affecting plant growth or development Both technologies are applicable across species and in elite varieties, allowing the continuity of use of seeds with high productivity Impact By providing heat-resistant crops, ThermoReLeaf is committed to restore crop profitability and to reduce the social impact of climate change. Through technological innovation, ThermoReLeaf promotes economic growth, higher levels of productivity and sustainable agricultural practices. Our Team ThermoReLeaf is a biotechnology startup founded in 2024. We based our startup in years of research and strong science. Gabriela C.
