ABOUT TORONTO, ON REAL ESTATE

Toronto is the largest city in Canada and has a population of over 2.7 million
people. Toronto is located on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario with a
diverse economy that includes technology, financial services,
telecommunications, and manufacturing. Toronto’s education system is also
well-respected and consistently ranks among the best in provincial rankings. Are
you ready to start your search for Toronto homes? This page will show you real
estate listings and any information you need to know when moving to Toronto,
ON.

TORONTO NEIGHBORHOODS

One of Toronto’s most tempting features is its many neighbourhoods and
communities- each with its own unique style and atmosphere including areas like
Agincourt. The Annex area is home to some beautiful Victorian-era homes that
have been converted into condos for sale or rent. In contrast, Yorkville has a
reputation as being one of Toronto’s most exclusive and upscale areas. Two-story
single-family homes for sale are most of what you’ll find when searching for
homes in Toronto, and the average home price ranges from $900,000 to $1.1
million.

DIVERSITY

Toronto is a diverse city that attracts people from all over the world.
Residents of Toronto come from all walks of life, and on top of the city having
two official languages (English and French), over 100 languages are spoken
throughout the area. The history of Toronto is also one of its biggest selling
points. Although it has become one of Canada’s largest metropolitan cities, the
archaeological digs that have been done in Toronto date back as far as 12,500
years! Toronto is one of North America’s oldest continuous settlements and
prides itself on its diversity.

TORONTO AMENITIES

Toronto has a rich multicultural heritage that can be seen all around the city,
from its many restaurants serving ethnic cuisine to cultural festivals
celebrating different Canadian groups. Aside from the array of different events
you can go to throughout the year, Toronto has plenty of activities for
residents to enjoy. The Toronto Islands are a great place to go for a day trip,
and you can enjoy everything from the ferry ride out there to bike rentals. If
that isn’t your thing, check out Centre Island’s amusement park or rent bikes
and explore all of Toronto’s parks! Some must-see things you’ll find in Toronto
are the CN Tower, the Hockey Hall of Fame, and Ontario Place.

TORONTO SCHOOLS

The schools in Toronto are some of the best ones you’ll find across Canada, with
over 100 public elementary and high schools, as well as many private options for
both kids and adults. The city’s universities have a wide variety of programs to
choose from, including law, medicine, engineering, and business.

In addition, Toronto is home to the largest financial district in Canada and the
second-largest in North America. The economy has been thriving here for years
thanks to a creative spirit that attracts talented people from all over the
world.

TORONTO TRANSPORTATION

Toronto has an extensive transit system that includes buses, streetcars, and
subways. The TTC operates over seven days a week out of the busiest stations in
Toronto, which include Union Station, Kennedy Station, and Downsview Park.
Driving around Toronto is not a recommended option as the city is fairly dense,
and parking can be difficult to find. An alternative option when moving around
downtown is walking or biking. There are plenty of bike lanes in downtown
Toronto for those who want to cycle around or park their bikes at designated
locations like bicycle station areas and bike-share stations. Toronto Pearson
Airport is the busiest airport in Canada and is located just 20 minutes from the
city centre.

THINGS TO DO IN TORONTO, ON

If you’re considering relocating to Toronto, you’ll want to know that there is
to do.  Whether you want to shop, explore nature, or find some delicious food,
you can bet that homes in Toronto has it all. Here is a list of some of our
favourite activities and attractions to do:

 1. Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
     * This aquarium is home to over 40,000 sea creatures, including sharks and
stingrays. The diverse collection of aquatic life makes this a must-see
for any animal lover with interest in marine life.
 2. Toronto Island Park
     * Toronto Island Park is a great place to spend the day. With plenty of
activities like renting bicycles and exploring nature, this location has
something for everyone. Accessible by ferry, the islands make for an
excellent place to explore for the whole day.
 3. CN Tower
     * The CN Tower is one of the most iconic buildings in Toronto. Standing at
over 550 metres, this building offers an awe-inspiring 360-degree view
across the city and beyond, as well as a revolving restaurant.
 4. St. Lawrence Market
     * Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market is a great place to spend an afternoon
looking for some fresh produce or grabbing something from one of the many
food stands. Many famous chefs have their own stalls at this market,
including Jamie Kennedy and Susur Lee, who offer up unique offerings that
       stop people in their tracks.
 5. Royal Ontario Museum
     * The Royal Ontario Museum is one of the highlights of Toronto’s cultural
scene, where visitors can learn about everything from dinosaurs to
Canadian art. The museum has recently undergone a major renovation
project and features new exhibits on everything from fashion to music to
       culture.
 6. Hockey Hall of Fame
     * Ice hockey is Canada’s national sport, and that’s never more evident than
at Toronto’s Hockey Hall of Fame. This museum pays homage to some of the
most legendary players in history, including Wayne Gretzky, Guy Lafleur,
Bobby Orr, and Gordie Howe, who have all made a mark on the sport.
 7. The AGO, Art Gallery of Ontario
     * The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is one of Toronto’s most important
cultural institutions. The gallery has a vast and comprehensive
collection that spans from medieval times right up to contemporary art.
The museum represents artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Warhol, and
       Kandinsky, among many others.
 8. Distillery Historic District
     * A Toronto must-see, the Distillery Historic District is a quiet little
neighbourhood repurposed into an artsy enclave. This quirky and cool
district was once a hub for meat production in the 1800s, but today it’s
home to over 100 studio spaces, galleries, cafés, restaurants, and
       boutiques like Red Rocket Books.
 9. Casa Loma
     * Casa Loma is a castle located in Toronto, and it’s the largest private
residence ever built. The construction of Casa Loma was started by
wealthy financier Sir Henry Mill Pellatt in 1911, but he ran out of money
during World War I so it wasn’t completed until 1926. The home features
an impressive collection of medieval weaponry, artworks, furnishings, and
tapestries from around the world. The gardens are equally impressive with
their beautiful ponds, grottoes, and fountains.
 10. High Park
     * High Park is Toronto’s most popular park, with over 150 acres of green
space. The beautiful Japanese Garden and the wildflower fields are just
two of many highlights in this extensive oasis. It’s also home to a zoo,
an amusement area, sports areas for tennis and baseball, and picnic
spaces where you can enjoy your lunch surrounded by beautiful views.
 11. Rogers Centre
     * Rogers Centre is home to the Toronto Blue Jays and seats over 50,000.
It’s also a great spot for concerts or family entertainment with its
interactive CN Tower rides. This complex is one of the last multi-purpose
       stadiums built in Canada!

TORONTO DAY TRIPS

As one of the most visited cities in North America, Toronto has plenty to do!
However, many day trips outside of Toronto will allow you to see spectacular
sights without being too far from home.

 1. Niagara Falls
     * Niagara Falls is a must-see for any Toronto resident and has been a
geologic wonder that has drawn tourists for centuries! You can visit the
falls on foot or take an aerial tour with one of their many helicopter
companies. The falls are located on the boundary line between Ontario and
New York, most of them in Canada. Niagara Falls is home to iconic
attractions like Maid of the Mist or Journey Behind The Falls, and more
serene spots such as Scenic Lookouts along River Road. Bird lovers will
love this park because it hosts over 250 species that migrate here each
year. Visit Niagara Falls during the winter months for great
       cross-country skiing and snowshoeing opportunities!

 2. Algonquin Provincial Park
     * The largest provincial park in the province is a 30-minute drive from
Toronto and offers visitors an abundance of activities, including skiing,
hiking, and camping. There are more than 500 km worth of trails that you
can enjoy year-round, so pack your gear and get ready for some fresh air!
If you’re looking for something adventurous, try one of their many
rappelling courses or even Canopy Tours. For families with children,
there are all sorts of fun things to do, like playing on the beach at
Sand Lake or taking part in Junior Ranger programs.

 3. Canada’s Wonderland
     * Canada’s Wonderland is one of the largest amusement parks in Canada and
also has 200 acres of water rides plus a whole host of other attractions.
If you want to ride high, then head for Flight Deck, where you’ll find
Ontario’s only double-looping roller coaster! For something a little
calmer, try Wonder Mountain’s Guardian, which offers ten different
slides. There are plenty more waterslides like Goliath or Jet Scream as
well as thrill rides such as The Bat or Drop Zone. If you’re looking for
some family fun all year round then this is definitely the place to be
with lots to offer throughout the seasons!

 4. Blue Mountain and Collingwood
     * If you’re looking for a place with great views then Ontario’s Blue
Mountains is the perfect destination. This town sits on Georgian Bay at
Toronto’s doorstep and offers breathtaking views of Lake Huron. The area
is also home to some wonderful wineries, so if you enjoy wine tasting,
make sure you pay them a visit! The region has plenty more to offer,
including hiking trails through the blueberry patches or cycling through
old railway tunnels that are now converted into bike paths. If it’s
history that interests you then there are many museums that tell
fascinating stories about life back in pioneer times, as well as telling
tales from WWI veterans who were stationed here too.

Accessibility StatementCompliance status

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone
and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the broadest
possible audience, regardless of ability.

To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web
Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA
level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people
with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us
ensure that the website is accessible to blind people, people with motor
impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.

This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as
accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that
allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user
interface) and design it to their personal needs.

Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the
background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application
remediates the website’s HTML, adapts its functionality and behavior for
screen-readers used by blind users, and for keyboard functions used by
individuals with motor impairments.

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet
Applications) technique, alongside various behavioral changes, to ensure blind
users visiting with screen-readers can read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s
functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they
immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can
browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of
the most important screen-reader requirements:

 1. Screen-reader optimization: we run a process that learns the website’s
components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when
updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with
meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide
accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons,
    search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs;
element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others.

Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images. It
provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based
description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not
described. It will also extract texts embedded within the image using an OCR
(optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader
adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard
combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn
the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.

These adjustments are compatible with popular screen readers such as JAWS,
    NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.

 2. Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the
website’s HTML and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the
website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the
website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow
keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key,
navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill
them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.

Additionally, keyboard users will find content-skip menus available at any
time by clicking Alt+2, or as the first element of the site while navigating
with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by
moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, not allowing
    the focus to drift outside.

Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F”
(forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported on our website
 * Epilepsy Safe Profile: this profile enables people with epilepsy to safely
use the website by eliminating the risk of seizures resulting from flashing
or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
 * Vision Impaired Profile: this profile adjusts the website so that it is
accessible to the majority of visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight,
Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
 * Cognitive Disability Profile: this profile provides various assistive
features to help users with cognitive disabilities such as Autism, Dyslexia,
CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements more easily.
 * ADHD Friendly Profile: this profile significantly reduces distractions and
noise to help people with ADHD, and Neurodevelopmental disorders browse,
read, and focus on the essential elements more easily.
 * Blind Users Profile (Screen-readers): this profile adjusts the website to be
compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A
screen-reader is installed on the blind user’s computer, and this site is
   compatible with it.
 * Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables
motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab,
Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M”
(menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to
   jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments
 1. Font adjustments – users can increase and decrease its size, change its
family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
 2. Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as
light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color
schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds with over seven different coloring
    options.
 3. Animations – epileptic users can stop all running animations with the click
of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs,
    and CSS flashing transitions.
 4. Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize essential elements such
as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered
    elements only.
 5. Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other
issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the
    entire website instantly.
 6. Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine linked to Wikipedia and
Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of
    phrases, initials, slang, and others.
 7. Additional functions – we allow users to change cursor color and size, use a
printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

Assistive technology and browser compatibility

We aim to support as many browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so
our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as
possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major
systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share, including Google
Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS, and NVDA
(screen readers), both for Windows and MAC users.

Notes, comments, and feedback

Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their
needs, there may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are
in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological
solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our
accessibility, adding, updating, improving its options and features, and
developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal
level of accessibility following technological advancements. If you wish to
