Afternoon Cheese For Two
Cheese on a barge? Is this a new Wallace fantasy? No, this is for real. WHAT'S
THIS ALL ABOUT? Afternoon Cheese Tasting experience on a solid 96ft double
decker barge, moored on the Regent's Canal serving - cheese! In fact they do
ring the changes with the odd Braised beef shin risotto ( with fresh goat’s
curd) but really their grilled cheese sarnies and cheese boards are the main
event. It’s just the best way to watch the world and the ducks go by. The best
way to check out this floating cheese palace is to forgo cakes, and tea and sit
down to ‘Afternoon Cheese tasting for Two’. This comprises a platter of 6
different British cheeses, each with individual condiment pairings, a carafe of
house wine (red or white), alongside crackers and sourdough. Vegetarian and GF
available when you arrive. If that sounds a bit mundane, perhaps we should point
out that the cheeses are to die for. The Cheese barge supports the real cheese
makers of Britain, farmers and rural communities who produce cheeses that you
can’t find in supermarkets. The pairings are selected with care and could be a
pickled cucumber or a slice of poached pear. So pass the chilli jam Gromit, and
help yourself to some of that Quicke’s Clothbound Cheddar on the way round… TELL

Make your Own Organic Soap
Learn how to make your own cold-pressed organic soap with natural herbs and shea
butter. WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT? Let’s do our bit to help the planet and make the
bathroom a plastic-free zone. Plastic bottles have had their day, we have to go
back to a basic bar. But just how basic do they have to be? We all know that
soap is one of those bathroom luxuries. The smell and texture contribute a vital
sensory edge to our soak experience. And what’s going into the bar? Remember,
this is a product you put on your skin everyday, and it should moisturise and
protect - nobody wants skin that feels like a dry, flakey biscuit. TELL ME MORE
You can pick from 4 different methods, choose which method and ingredients suit
you. Prepare to learn the cooking techniques, how to prepare a soap base and
how to heat and monitor temperatures. Choose from a selection of colours and
experiment with marbling and layering colour. You will be working with natural
ingredients to fragrance the soap, as well as herbs and flowers that add to the
dermatological properties in the bar. Think poppy seeds for exfoliating to
marigold flowers with their anti-inflammatory and healing properties. At the end
of the class you will have your very own custom made soap and the know-how to
carry on producing (gifts sorted for a lifetime!). THE ALL IMPORTANT DETAILS
- Last Saturday of the month 11am.- Kensal Rise (easy to get to from Paddington
or overground and underground) Each session lasts 90 minutes. You will leave the
class with 3-4 lovely soaps that you have made yourself. Insider tip: Make a

WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT? What do Keith Richards, Prince Charles and Miley Cyrus
have in common? They all find solace and an outlet for their creativity through
art. Painting is a great way to get away from the stresses of life. Art is
therapeutic and a studio is the antithesis of pace. If you have always wanted to
explore painting, but don’t know how to start, or you have an idea but are
unsure or worried about your ability, then you need to meet Georgie Mason. TELL
ME MORE Georgie is an award-winning abstract landscape painter who works from
her studio which is located at the charming Stepney City Farm in the middle of
East London. The studio double doors open onto the farm, so you can watch the
animals in an atmosphere that feels far removed from the city bustle. Her
classes are aimed at anyone who would like to spend a peaceful Saturday
afternoon or Tuesday evening creating with like-minded souls. Her studio is just
the space to get you motivated, and you will have access to all the materials
you need to get started. Georgie will talk you through the process of colour
mixing, mark-making and texture, guiding you skilfully through the process until
you have created your own masterpiece. Whether you are a complete beginner, or
you want to experiment with new techniques you will find Georgie easy and
empathetic, and by the way, forget the competition - there isn’t any. The
classes are kept small for a reason, you are there to paint, not to panic.

Dai-Kor Candle Making
60 minute session, that introduces you to the pleasure of creating soy wax
candles. WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT? We are the candle capital of the world - just
ask Selfridges who sell an astonishing amount of designer candles - but as
everyone knows there are candles and there are candles. Too strong a scent with
low grade oils can have you and your guests spluttering and gasping for air.
The way forward is soy wax. Eco right down to the end of the wick. Dai-KOR
creates luxury statement candles, exquisitely scented to enhance your mood.
Their collection is filled with candles as ‘art’. Knots marbled like beach
pebbles, ‘body’ candles speckled with gold leaf that perfumes the air with the
light scent of afternoon tea, or cut glass jars that twinkle as the wax burns
down at a very s-l-o-w rate. TELL ME MORE Learning how to make candles is a
rather delicious pastime. This class takes place in very picturesque Camden
Passage and lasts for 60 zen minutes. While you eat a cupcake your candle guru
will take you through the skill involved in the pour and scent. Crumbs aside,
you will now set to and create your own 6-ouncer. You will have to wait to light
your candle. It will be posted out to you (you will have made your own personal
label, so there is no chance of getting anyone else's), which really is a treat

Table Tennis Masterclass
Chop, smash and destroy at the luxurious Bounce in Farringdon. WHAT'S THIS ALL
ABOUT? Back in the good old days, in India, a doctor and a glazier were on
constant call whilst enjoying a game of Wiff Waff. The game was played after
dinner, and involved a couple of books and a golf ball. Nowadays we have
paddles, a net, a somewhat lighter ball and Nicholas, the Indytute table tennis
coach. Nicholas hosts ping pong events all over London, so if you want to stun
your family or friends on your next holiday then Nicholas is the man for
you. Nicholas is winner of 'Young Coach of The Year' and is Former National
Level Junior Player in the UK. This table tennis lesson is at the fantastic
Bounce in Farringdon. WHAT WILL I BE LEARNING? You will be learning the basics
of Ping Pong. How to serve, how to place and direct the ball, and how to chop
and smash. In fact how to destroy your opponent (in a moderately friendly way).
The lesson will end with a fun, mini tournament against the other students in
the class. THE ALL IMPORTANT DETAILS This class is 2 hours long for either one
person or two: 1.5 hours playing, followed by a short tournament, and takes
place at Bounce in Farringdon. If you prefer, you can book a private session for
4 people. These lessons are one Sunday a month in the afternoon. Bring comfy
shoes (and a thirst for competition!) UNDER 16's The workshop is aimed at
adults, but we welcome under 16's if accompanied by a parent.
