You know what is the worst part about all this? ... We never had breakfast. We
just woke up, read a note. Get chewed out by the man in charge. Nearly die by
falling into the ocean. Then suddenly we are in horror-land. All without even a
crumb to eat.

I could hear this dialogue all day. It feels so natural. And even with all the
variations of the Scottish accent in terms of thickness you can still hear them
clearly. Absolutely hilarious.

I realise something this game's script does very well: The NPCs feel like people
because they actually do their part to help rather than "protagonist gets sent
on errand #99 to solve everything" (like Dead Space 1)

The fact that Caz gives Finley his lighter at the beginning and then she gives
it back to him in the end to destroy the rig and cosmic horror..what a crazy
full circle moment. Absolutely amazing game, thanks for the video Ryan. Wild 3
hours of being stuck on a sinking graveyard in the middle of the ocean.

I truly believe this story is inspired by oil rig tragedies in general. If you
get rid of the supernatural occurrences, the story can very much happen in real
life. It’s a good reason why it’s a good horror setting to many short stories.
It sucks that no one will ever know what will happen and even if the company
finds out that they’re gone they probably won’t tell the families since they
don’t want to deal with lawsuits or compensation to the families.

Is anyone else talking about the overall game? It's so well-made and the quality
is unreal it's like watching an imax movie or something. I like that the game
isn't so long because of difficulty but because it offers a developed plot and
storyline. It's so refreshing to see games like this because nowadays most
horror is boring monster designs, repetitive elements or unnecessarily hard
games. This game is so freaking awesome dude it's like Annihilation but at sea
and the fact that everyone is just stranded at the oil rig is just so
terrifying. The first part of the game was scary enough because the quick time
events where the character would be close to falling felt so real and so it
actually gave me goosebumps. Every character has a unique, complex personality.
The dialogue was one of my favorites (as an American). So glad this game reached
you, Ryan!

I've always both loved and hated the idea of monsters like this in games. The
idea that if you're taken you won't just die, you'll still have some sort of
consciousness left over, you're just unable to control your actions, is
horrifying. The idea that you're forced to just sit back and watch as you become
a gross amalgamation of flesh and murder all your friends is so disturbing and
it's why I love these monster designs so much. These particular ones remind me
of Sweet Home in the way that they're more trapped in whatever their most
intense feelings were when they turned.

Wow, the call between Brodie and Caz was so heartbreaking, truly an emotional
game, and Finlay snapping and knowing they werent escaping and Caz understanding
the same almost made me cry. This felt like Firewatch with how story rich it
was, it was super similar in story and the one difference was you interacted
with others the entire game, although in this game you slowly lost each person,
which is more similar to a game like outer wilds in which there is a time loop
after a supernova happens, which makes you wake up at the beginning of the game,
and im not gonna spoil it but just know it is super emotional.

I think what upset me most with the initial scares was Gregor just slip falling
off. No big music crescendo, no big scream, he just slips and is gone! So true
to life, but that makes it even creepier!

This is why I’m a land dweller, most of earths surface has been discovered but
nobody can say the same about the ocean. The ocean is vast, deep, and holds life
that can sustain itself in the depths where no light and maximum pressure can
kill anything else, there can always be something bigger and deadlier than
anything that could live on land. Are we truly certain we are safe in the water?

This was a playable horror movie in itself and I loved it. Regarding dialogue,
that was the most natural dialogue I’ve ever heard. The comedic bits flowed
naturally as well lmaooo. The ending had me tearing up. Cosmic horror isnt
really shown in media a lot recently so I’m glad this was created. Great
experience!

It was just so sad watching Caz move around the rig, hearing all his coworkers,
the people He spent his days for 4 months with, turning into one of them without
knowing what to do and absolute unknown of the current circumstances, and
Finlay, one of the first characters you meet, and you barely know and any
screentime, manages to make an impact on you and Caz by saying "Be brave, be
brave for them" felt so real. And the voice acting is so well done.
