Using an MCC has made my life a great deal easier with regards to managing
client accounts. The ability to quickly review performance summaries and switch
between AdWords accounts with ease is definitely an asset; a great deal of time
would be wasted without this tool at my disposal. 
 
 
 
What is an MCC (My Client Center)?

 

My Client Center, commonly known as an MCC, is an “umbrella” account used to
manage multiple AdWords accounts without having to constantly log in and out of
each individual AdWords account. The MCC features a linking system which allows
regular accounts to be connected to this single “umbrella” account without login
details ever having to be exchanged.


Why use an MCC?


An MCC is a powerful and essential tool when management of multiple AdWords
accounts is required. Ideally it is useful for large advertisers who have more
than one AdWords account but it is commonly used by third-party agencies who
manage AdWords accounts for a number of their personal clients. Key features
include the ability to view information for all managed accounts in one place,
manage those accounts with ease due to using a single login and also to run
reports across all accounts at once.


When to use an MCC?


If you find that you are currently wasting time and becoming frustrated due to
having to switch between accounts all the time then an MCC can definitely make
life easier with regards to managing AdWords accounts. An SEM (Search Engine
Marketing) company practically cannot operate without using an MCC when there
are multiple accounts belonging to clients that need to be managed.

There is also the opportunity to link one MCC to another MCC meaning that a
structure can be obtained similar to that of a family tree diagram. Say for
example a large SEM company has hundreds of clients and each AdWords account
manager within that company has a set number of clients to manage. There will be
the main company MCC which is at the highest level of the structure which can
oversee all accounts linked to it. It is likely that only the CEO or Marketing
Manager of the company will have access to this MCC. Then each AdWords account
manager will have their own MCC with their own clients’ accounts linked to this.
This MCC will be linked to the main company MCC. This structure allows each
member of staff to gain access to exactly what they need to while higher ranking
employees of a company can review how everything below their access level is
being managed.
 
 
 
 
Tips on using an MCC
 
 
 * Using an MCC is simple - The interface is as simple as the standard regular
   AdWords account to use.

 * Login details are not required - Only a 10 digit customer ID number
   (xxx-xxx-xxxx)  is required to link an AdWords account to an MCC.

 * Review and manage accounts from a single screen - Change budgets, view alerts
   and locate accounts immediately all from a single screen.
