UPLAND AND GALA GAMES PARTNERSHIP ADVANCES THE OPEN METAVERSE

The potential of cross-platform experiences in the open metaverse is exciting.
And as we see in the recent partnership announced between Upland and Gala Games,
it’s getting closer every day. 



‍

This partnership promises an interplay between the two ecosystems that adds
value to digital assets and creates new dynamic experiences. For example, Upland
will have a headquarters in Gala Games’s VOXverse and VOX will open stores and
Dev Shops in Upland. Further, it will be possible for VOX users to bring
collectible ERC-721 NFTs from VOXverse into Upland’s ecosystem!

What does this mean for Uplanders? First, VOX Dev Shops will add more
experiences in Upland, which is great! There’s also a strong belief that as
separate web3 ecosystems grow closer together, user bases and experiences will
expand. When someone can go from one place to another while bringing assets with
them (like you would shopping in a mall, for example) all the environments
become more dynamic and engaging. There’s much more to come in terms of what
this means for the Upland ecosystem.

One of the great things about web3 and the metaverse is that digital worlds
don’t have to be in silos. Experiences can flow between worlds, giving each
ecosystem within the larger metaverse a more integrated feel. This is called
“interoperability,” and it’s a big deal. The partnership between Upland and Gala
Games is an exciting step towards interoperability, opening new doors for these
ecosystems and their users.

Gala Games Teams Up with Upland as Launch Partner for the Ethereum
Interoperability Portal

Gala Games and Upland Take First Steps Towards a Mutual Mission of
Interoperability and an Open Metaverse with Cross-Platform Experiences and
Portability of Assets

‍

PALO ALTO, Calif., October 12, 2022 -- Gala, a leader in Web3 entertainment and
gaming, announces a partnership with Uplandme, Inc. today. Vox, under the Gala
Games umbrella, will be Upland’s first Ethereum partner in the platform’s
Ethereum interoperability portal that will continue Upland’s mission of building
an open economy.

Upland is the largest property-trading, city-building metaverse platform that
empowers players to become metaverse entrepreneurs. Through the partnership with
VOX, collectible ERC-721 NFTs will integrate into the Upland ecosystem and open
economy using Upland’s NFT portal.

The Gala-Upland collaboration is setting the foundations for the partners’
shared vision of an open metaverse that allows for interoperability of assets.
True ownership in the digital age is a fundamental tenet of Web3. Allowing users
to transport their assets across-platforms strengthens true ownership, as well
as the Vox and Upland ecosystems.

Upland will have a headquarters in the VOXverse, a forthcoming metaverse created
in partnership between Gala Games and founder of SIMS Will Wright. Additionally,
VOX will have a presence in Upland with a metaverse building, stores, and
developer shops leading to experiences and games. “Uplanders'' welcome the VOX
Community with several fun engagements, including: competitive city openings,
treasure hunts, car racing (Alpha), as well as collaborative activities such as
the joint construction of sports stadiums with exciting Upland partners like FC
Porto or the NFLPA, and by creating nodes and neighborhoods where like-minded
people work towards common goals. While the VOXverse is being finalized, fans
will be able to play VOX Odyssey, a text-based choose-your-own-adventure game
that will be playable in the Upland Discord. VOX Odyssey allows users to take
their VOX on quests and adventures while collecting resources. Part of the
VOX-Upland collaboration will include Upland-specific storylines that will be
revealed at launch.
