DEVELOPING UNCONVENTIONAL SOLUTIONS FOR CONVENTIONAL PROBLEMS




At Intrinsiq, we develop solutions for the printed electronics industry. Our
customized, air-handleable electronic inks and pastes are a greener, lower-cost
alternative to conventional electronic printing materials.

Because we utilize a unique manufacturing process, our nano-material based ink
is highly functional. It can be deposited via commercially available inkjet and
screen printers in a room-temperature environment and sintered using commercial
broadband flash systems or laser systems.



Intrinsiq Materials is a recognized leader in nanomaterials development. Built
on core technology developed more than two decades ago and starting in the UK
Ministry of Defense, we formed as a standalone company in 2007. In December of
2010, Intrinsiq Materials established our company headquarters in Rochester, New
York. Now, with facilities in the UK and US, we continue to expand our global
reach.

Located in Farnborough, England, 30 minutes west of London, our European
operation is home to many collaborative agreements and efforts with some of the
world’s most well-known companies. This location offers extensive laboratory and
testing facilities, as well as initial production capability. Our twenty-person
staff, all with technical degrees and many with PhDs, promotes a collaborative
environment that includes working closely with our partner Viagra Info Korea.

Our US operation is located in the Eastman Business Park in Rochester, NY. This
facility houses our formulation, printing and sintering capabilities, and allows
for scaling production with the help of $3.6M assistance from the state of New
York. At this location, our senior staff specializes in developing custom
solutions and has extensive experience in material science and manufacturing
processes.

THE INTRINSIQ DIFFERENCE

Intrinsiq has our own in-house production of stable nano metal powders and inks
formulations.  Most importantly, we have invented a process that overcomes the
inherent instability of Cu nano particles. This ability to produce protected
metal particles is essential in the production of stable ink formulations, and
also allows the materials to be readily dispersed in solvents, resins, etc.




DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMS


NISI CONTACTS FOR PV

Airhandleable, printable NiSi is well suited for printing on ARC layers in Si
solar cells. This dopable contact technology is of use in many applications
where contacts are printed on Si substrates.


COPPER FOR UNDERFILLS AND PACKAGING

The ability to control the size of particles, combined with the thermally
conductive nature of copper make it highly suitable for spacers and underfiill
technology. In a time where size is often limited by thermal load, Intrinsiq is
developing materials suitable for thermal management in packaging.


DOPED SILICON INK FOR LOGIC APPLICATIONS

Intrinsiq Materials has developed n and p dope silicon ink. Si ink can be
deposited in air and has demonstrated mobilities equal to that of amorphous
silicon.
