Civil Aviation Department reminds public to remain vigilant against scams

It has come to the notice of the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) that members of
the public received fraudulent demand notes purportedly issued by the CAD for a
"fee" for an application of operating air services to and from Hong Kong.

The CAD emphasises that the department would not request applicants to pay any
fee when applying to operate air services to and from Hong Kong. For required
information and procedures in regard to the application, please refer to the
CAD's website （https://www.cad.gov.hk/english/charter.html）. The CAD has
reported the case to the Police.

The CAD reminds members of the public to remain vigilant when receiving any
suspicious document. If there is any doubt, please contact the CAD's staff for
verification, or call the 24-hour enquiry hotline 18222 to contact the
Anti-Deception Coordination Centre of the Police for assistance.
