Keynote Speaker: Maya Ghazal, ambassador of the foundation UNHCR

Moderator: Athar Husain Khan, Secretary General, EBAA

Hear an inspiring interview with Syrian refugee Maya Ghaza, who was appointed a
Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in 2021. In 2015, Ghazal
fled Damascus at age 16 and started a new life in the UK under a family
reunification scheme. Unable to speak the language she taught herself English
and overcame numerous barriers to secure a place in school to restart her
interrupted studies. Through a combination of hard work and tenacity she is now
studying for a degree in Aviation Engineering and Pilot Studies at University in
London.

(S.T.A.R.S.) program is based on an idea put forward by a collection of One
Young World Ambassadors. EBAA has taken the lead in developing the recommended
practices for improving sustainability levels across the business aviation
industry. This session will explain what S.T.A.R.S. is, who can participate in
its implementation and when it will be available to business aviation
stakeholders.
