ANGELA HAIRRELL, PHD, MED Director of Learning Support and Assistant Professor Burnett School of Medicine, Texas Christian University Dr. Hairrell is a lifetime educator who has served all levels (PreK to professional school) for over 30 years now. She holds a Ph.D in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M University at College Station. Currently she serves as the Director of Learning Support and Assistant Professor in the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU. Her research interests include reading comprehension, vocabulary development, active learning strategies, learning differences. Having spent many years teaching in the public school system and working in higher education research, she is passionate about helping students achieve success through data- and performance-driven assessment, which is especially important to help medical students become effective and efficient learners. DR. MARK HAND, PHD, RN, CNE Clinical Professor, College of Nursing, East Carolina University Dr. Mark Hand has over 23 years of nursing education experience. He has taught in ADN, BSN and Graduate Nursing Programs, His research interests include men in nursing education, LGBTQ+ health education in nursing education, and academic success in nursing students. He is a Certified Nurse Educator and a recipient of the Excellence in Classroom and Clinical Teaching Daisy Award , Excellence in Education, and Excellence in Research from the Beta Nu Chapter of Sigma. He was a member of the Board of Governors for the National League for Nursing from 2019-2022. He has written and published in nursing journals and presented at several nursing conferences locally, nationally, and internationally. DR. CHRISTOPHER CARRUBBA, MD USMLE Medical Director, TrueLearn Dr. Christopher Carrubba is an experienced medical education executive who has spent over 12 years tutoring medical school students as they prepare for USMLE and COMLEX exams. In addition, he is experienced in writing board-style questions and developing content. While completing his residency in Internal Medicine, he was hired to the position of Medical Director at MedSchool Tutors, where he completed over 5,000 hours of personalized tutoring, hired and trained new tutors, and established consulting relationships with medical schools and content providers.
