How do I add the CDN to my site?

Adding the CDN to your site is as easy as pointing your domain to our services.
We have a comprehensive, step-by-step guide on integrating with our services
which you may follow below!

I already have an SSL certificate on my server, can I still use StackPath's Free
SSL cert with the CDN?

Yes. The SSL cert on your server allows for HTTPS encryption between the CDN and
your webserver. The EdgeSSL cert lives on our edge servers, protecting HTTPS
traffic between the CDN and the end-user.

Can I purge just a single file or path from the CDN?

You absolutely can, by using the Custom Purge feature, found in your CDN Site
Settings page.

Can I set the TTL for my cached assets from within the StackPath portal?

Yes, cache handling and Lifetime/TTL can be managed from the StackPath Control
Portal. Simply navigate to the desired site and select CDN from the left nav-bar
to show the CDN Settings for that site. You may adjust these settings to fit
your site's needs!

My server takes too long to redirect to WWW or to HTTPS, what can I do?

If your server is taking too long to respond with 301 redirects to the proper
protocol or subdomain, you can offload that task to StackPath by enabling the
Preset Edge Rules to force connections to HTTPS or WWW.

Why are my icons not working after integrating with the CDN?

More often than not, this is an issue with CORS header support configuration.
This can be toggled on and off in the StackPath portal as well as most CDN
Re-write plug-ins like W3 Total Cache. Follow the Read More link below for
information on troubleshooting this specific issue.

What should I do if I am getting a "Sorry, you have been blocked" error message?

There are many reasons why this might happen. If you are a visitor on a site
that uses the StackPath WAF, please contact the manager of the site directly and
provide them the Reference ID. They will be able to adjust their WAF rules
accordingly. If you are a Stackpath customer, you can use our troubleshooting
guide below.

Why am I getting a captcha when making changes in my CMS?

When updating a site using a CMS's admin page, it is possible for the WAF to
flag the update scripts and HTML as an attack against the site, since the
scripts are updating the sites HTML. To prevent future CAPTCHA's, Use the
StackPath WAF's "Whitelist - CMS" rules located at the bottom of the StackPath
WAF's settings page.

Can I allow or disallow traffic based on my own needs if they aren’t covered by
the Preset WAF Policies found in the portal?

Yes! You can create custom WAF rules to block, allow, and challenge different
types of traffic based on many different types of criteria. These can be located
in the Edge Rules tab of your StackPath portal.

Do IP Whitelist/Blacklist rules count against my Custom WAF Rule allotment?

No they do not. IP-Based rules do not count against your custom Waf Rule
allotment for your plan.

Does the WAF have DDoS protection capabilities?

Yes, the StackPath WAF provides application layer (L7) DDoS protection and is
enabled by default for all WAF sites. The DDoS protection thresholds can be
configured from the WAF settings page based on your specific needs.

What DNS records does Stackpath Support?

StackPath Support the following records: A, AAAA, CAA, CNAME, MX, SRV, TXT, and

Can I import DNS records?

Stackpath will attempt to import all supported DNS records when you create a DNS
zone. It is also possible to add records manually. StackPath's DNS services also
allow for BIND formatted files to be uploaded within the portal.

I have created a DNS Zone for my domain in the StackPath portal and added all of
my records, how can I now migrate to StackPath DNS?

Once you have your DNS records added to the zone, log into your DNS provider and
replace the current NameServers with the StackPath name servers shown in your
DNS Zone page in the StackPath Control Portal.

I am using a different DNS provider and would rather not change that. Can I
still integrate with the StackPath CDN and WAF?

Yes, using StackPath DNS is not a pre-requisite for using our services even
though it is recommended. You can point your domain to our services from any DNS
provider.

Can I use A-Name records on StackPath DNS

No. StackPath DNS does not currently support A-Name records. Apex domains
(example.com) must be pointed directly to a host IP using a standard A Record.

What constitutes my site being Down?

What is Serverless Scripting?

Serverless Scripting allows you to offload JavaScript from your server to the
Edge, running these functions closer to your end users. These scripts can
interact with every request that comes through to your domain to do things like
modify request body, make additional fetch queries or even respond to the
request directly, further offloading work from your origin.

What languages are currently supported by Serverless Scripting?

Serverless Scripting currently supports JavaScript, but more languages will be
added in the future.

How does it work?

Serverless scripts are executed in the StackPath data center closest to a given
end-user. When a user's request comes in, we execute your JavaScript code in an
individual, isolated sandbox environment built on StackPath's custom
implementation of the V8 JavaScript Engine.

How do I enabled Serverless Scripting on my site?

Simply navigate to the desired site, select Scripts from the left nav-bar and
then select continue! For more information on getting up and running with
Serverless Scripting, please check out the examples on GitHub.

Yes, each script will be restricted to the following limits: 5ms CPU Execution
Time, 15s Wall Time, and 128MB RAM. If you require more CPU/RAM for your
script(s), please contact sales@stackpath.com and we will help accommodate your
needs.

Are there some example scripts I can look at to get familiar?

Yes! You can find a few examples that we have included in our Knowledge Base,
select "Read More" for more information.

How can I test my scripts?

You can test your scripts via the Serverless Scripting Sandbox!

What is Edge Compute?

(VM) on a platform with more diverse PoP locations than centralized cloud
providers, getting your workload closer to your end users and clients.

What are Containers?

Using tools like Docker, Containers allow you to package application code,
dependencies, and configurations into a single object that can be deployed in
any environment. Containers are created from container images and are only
considered a container when they are running.

How is access to Edge Compute instances handled?

The standard method to access Edge Compute instances is via SSH, using an SSH
Key Generated prior to deployig any instances into a Workload.

Usually when I buy a VM elsewhere, "root" is the default user. Is "root" the
deault user for Edge Compute Virtual Machines?

In Edge Compute, the default user is based on the operating system with which
the Virtual Machine was deployed. Edge Computing VM's are provisioned from
images which are configured with a default user. No passwords are set on
creation, so you will need to ensure you Generate SSH Keys and have added them
to your workload during workload creation before attempting to connect to your
instance.

Can I host a web server on Edge Compute?

Cloud, can be done at the Edge with Edge Compute Virtual Machines. Follow the
Read More link below for an example of deploying a WordPress host on Edge
Compute!
