Meet Sarah Heilman:

Sarah Heilman is majoring in finance and political science at West Virginia
University where she is a rising senior. Sarah is in her second year of the
program and is currently placed at Main Street Bank where she is applying skills
that she learned pursuing her finance degree. Sarah chose to do the CLIP program
for a second year to continue to learn about local opportunities and she enjoyed
her first year in the program despite it being cut short by COVID. Therefore,
Sarah is very excited to have a full experience this summer! ...

Meet Grace Hamilton:

Grace is currently studying at Muskingum University in pursuit of both an early
childhood and special education license. Embarking on her sophomore year, she
dedicates both time and effort to civic engagement, childcare, her studies, and
the arts. Hosted at Oglebay Institute's Schrader Center, Grace is one of the
many camp counselors who encourages students to be the best version of a budding
naturalist, explorer, and outdoor investigator that they can.

She is thoroughly grateful to the CFOV for providing such an opportunity not
only to network connections and gain hands-on experience, but also to prepare
for a career in education while appreciating the nature surrounding her. ...

Meet Gavin Shields:
Gavin is a rising sophomore and an accounting major at Miami University. This is
his first year in the Community Leader Internship Program, and he is currently
placed at Zeno Pockl Lilly & Copeland A.C. in Wheeling, WV. While there, he
works with other accountants to complete various projects. He is excited to
network with and learn from other business professionals as well as gain
experience in his field. Above all, he is grateful for the CFOV and the
opportunity to work and learn more about the Ohio Valley. ...

CFOV Community Leader interns spent their day listening to a great talk from
Brian Joseph of Touchstone Research Laboratory, Ltd. followed by a tour of the
facilities. Next up was a fabulous lunch at Avenue Eats food truck. Finally was
a talk by the CEO of Health Plan and tour of the state-of-the-art, high-tech new
building. ...

Thanks to the diverse generosity of donors, the Community Foundation for the
Ohio Valley continues to enhance the vibrancy of the Upper Ohio Valley. This is
accomplished through meaningful charitable actions, strategic and
initiative-driven investments, and thoughtful community leadership. With assets
of $75 million, the Foundation distributed more than $3 million in grants and
scholarships over the past year and provided support to projects and programs
that lead to meaningful community betterment.
