LIQUOR LICENSING
Any person or organisation that intends to supply liquor in Victoria must apply
for a licence or permit.
PROOF OF AGE CARDS AND THE OPTUS DATA BREACH
Liquor Control Victoria (LCV) is aware of the Optus data breach and is closely
monitoring its impact on proof of age cards.
Optus is contacting its customers who are affected by the data breach with
further advice.
If Optus contacts you about your proof of age card, please email
contact@vgccc.vic.gov.au.
In your email include:
* your proof of age card barcode number
* any evidence Optus provided to you about your card and the data breach.
LCV will flag your record in our database. This will prevent any unauthorised
changes or access to your information.
You can apply for a new proof of age card. There will be no fee to replace your
card if your request is due to the Optus data breach.
Contact us on 1300 182 457 if you have questions or concerns.
We take your privacy very seriously. We understand incidents involving the
unauthorised disclosure of your personal information are stressful. To protect
the privacy and security of proof of age card holders, we will flag and record
the details of any cards compromised as part the Optus data breach.
From 1 July, the regulation of liquor licensing is transitioning into the
Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Until the transition is complete, there is no change to the existing way you
apply for, and manage your licences. Information is available on the Victorian

We are working on transferring all liquor-related content to this site. Once
this task is complete, all information and applications will be available here.
LATEST NEWS
During November and December 2022, the Victorian Government is refunding venues
their application fee for a temporary limited liquor licence when this
application is to broadcast a major sporting event.

MANAGE AN EXISTING LICENCE
Update your details or download copies of an existing liquor licence, annual
renewal notice and red-line plan.
APPEAL A DECISION
Applicants and objectors have the right to ask for an internal review of a
decision relating to an application.
LODGE A COMPLAINT ABOUT A PREMISES
If you wish to lodge a complaint relating to a premises that supplies liquor in
Victoria, please complete our online complaint form.

provide safe and responsible licensed premises.
GET A PROOF OF AGE CARD
The Victorian Proof of Age card is used to show proof of age for people over 18
years when buying liquor. This card is recognised throughout Australia.
